It was one of the best sleep Sakura had had in years and to add up to her paradise, she woke up in the arms of the man she loves, who was apparently awake for a long time now and was just enjoying his view of her sleeping face until she woke up.
"Good morning, Sasuke." she greeted as she smiled. She was seated in between Sasuke and he had his arms around her waist. Seriously, will he ever take his hands off her?
"Did you know you flutter your eyes five times before you fully wake up?" he said as a matter-of-fact. "I have a feeling you've been observing me since yesterday." Sakura retorted. "Wrong. Since we were children." Sasuke said and at that, all the memories of them being together in their younger days flooded her mind. His actions made sense to her now. Those burning gazes and stares back then were really of love and not just coincidence as her mind had told her. She felt that familiar fluttering feeling in her chest again and she welcomed it with open arms, unlike before where she would hold herself back, afraid of having her hopes crushed.
They were having pure happiness and it wasn't shut off this time. Nothing is holding them back anymore. The others would be the least of their problems for now.
Sakura realized they were still in that cliff with the beautiful view. "It's beautiful here. Don't you think so, Sasuke?" Sakura commented and patiently waited for Sasuke's opinion, which just turned out to be "Hn."
"How far is that village again?" Naruto asked. "We'll be there by tomorrow's sun down." Shikamaru asked and Naruto groaned louder. "We'll be stopping by the next village soon. It's not that far if you don't slack off."
"Fine." Naruto begrudgingly complied and then his mind wandered off to Sakura again. "How are we going to find her like this?" he asked.
"That's why we have connections, idiot." Shikamaru poked Naruto's forehead with the back of his hand in a not so soft way.
"Ow."
"We better move. We haven't eaten anything since yesterday." Sasuke said as Sakura stood up. Only then did she realize so and she wasn't even hungry. Usually, by now her stomach is growling but no, it wasn't. She didn't even feel hungry at all. It's like the whole world vanishes in her moments with Sasuke and she doesn't care.
"Do you have any idea where we are?" Sakura asked, looking behind here at the serene view and made her actually think twice. Sasuke fell silent for awhile as he too stood up as well, looking to his side. "I'm not sure myself."
"So how did you get us here?"
"I teleported us. I had been affected by that chakra-depleting bomb so I couldn't concentrate on a place to go and plus, I was teleporting two people." He answered, clenching and unclenching his fists to stretch the muscles. "Are you ready to leave, then?" Sakura worriedly asked which was answered by a "Hn."
"You could rest here for awhile. I'll go look for food." Sakura offered, smiling. She was about to dwelve in the forest behind him when she felt her arm being restricted by Sasuke's firm but somehow gentle grip. "No. Don't seperate from me." His voice was mixed with slight desperation and concern and worry, not looking at her. He can't make the mistake Sasori had done. He had let Sakura out of his sight and the ironic thing was, because of food. Yes, he had known Sakura was out to look for food back then and he certainly can't have the same mistake repeated. He can't lose Sakura.
Sakura was stunned for a moment, just looking at Sasuke but then her smile returned after. She held Sasuke's constricting hand on her arm. She never knew Sasuke could be this protective, clingy and sweet towards her. She had stopped dreaming and hoping for Sasuke to show any kind of affection to her after that horrible day also known as her death. She immediately mentally shook that thought off.
