Yuri took to the ice. He followed the rhythm of the music. Eros, he was skating to Eros. He focused on his movements, on the way his body followed the sound of the music. The days when he was thinking of a pork cutlet bowl were over. The Eros he was skating was something new, everyone could see it but nobody could say who or what had changed the young man.
Viktor watched from the side, leaning on the edge of the rink. He watched his protégé skate the routine he had skated a thousand times. Something was off about his skater, his skating was perfect, better than before. He looked at him with an inquisitive look. The young man was glowing as he glided across the ice. Viktor knew just from watching the boy that he was no ordinary pork cutlet bowl.
Yuri finished his short program in first place, just in front of Yurio. Before the skater had a chance to leave, Yurio dragged Yuri into the bathroom, where he had once told the boy to retire.
"What the hell?!" Yurio yelled at the rather confused Yuri.
Yuri blinked at the younger boy.
"W-What?" he asked leaning away slightly.
Yurio ran a hand through his hair before answering.
"That was no pork cutlet bowl!" he yelled.
"I don't know what you mean." Yuri replied quietly.
"I mean that you have never performed Eros that well! What changed?" Yurio had begun to calm down slightly.
"Why does it matter?" Yuri asked tentatively.
"I need to know. I need to be able to beat you and to do that I need to know what is going through your head." Yurio replied tapping the others head.
Yuri looked at him with a slight smirk on his face.
"Fine, but this works both ways Yurio. Your Agape performance was the best you have ever done. So tell me ... who were you thinking about, because that was definitely NOT your grandpa."
Yurio blushed a deep red before pushing Yuri slightly.
"What does that matter? I didn't beat you, did I? You came first!" he half yelled.
Yuri chuckled to himself but before he had time to respond, Yurio was talking again.
"Do you think I'm stupid?"
Yuri looked at him confused, "Huh?"
"Your Eros was about Viktor."
Yuri began to blush and put his hand up to try and deny what the younger boy was saying. However, his attempt was short lived when Yurio grasped his wrist and pointed at the ring he wore.
"I know why you changed the jump in your free skate to his signature move. That free skate is your story, your love story and you chose to finish it with HIS jump."
Yuri pulled his hand away from Yurio blushing.
"So what?"
"You love him, which is why your Eros was so good. Tell me Piggy, have you two done ... adult stuff?"
Yuri went bright red and stared at Yurio.
"No, no of course not."
Yurio glanced at the older boy and saw the slight pain and panic flash across his face. He furrowed his eyebrows at him before turning and sliding down the wall.
"Yuri?" he asked quietly.
His voice made Yuri jump slightly, he crouched down next to the boy slightly concerned.
"Yes?"
"How did you tell Viktor how you feel?"
Yuri looked at the young boy surprised.
"Well,.. erm... I may have said it in a press conference but he didn't understand as it was in Japanese. I placed his jump at the end of the free skate and I think that that was when he understood. However, nothing can be done until you accept it. I always denied it but I finally accepted it hence the Eros."
Yurio nodded slowly.
"Why?" Yuri asked hesitantly placing a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Curious." Yurio replied quietly.
"You must have accepted something going by your Agape. Would that person be Otabek?" Yuri asked quietly.
Yurio turned a deep shade of red and pushed the older boy away. His actions only confirmed Yuri's thoughts and he chuckled slightly.
"I'll take that as a yes. He's a bit like you Yurio. To be honest I've only ever seen him smile when he is with you."
Yurio blushed even more before a sound made the pair jump apart slightly. Yurio sprang to his feet while Yuri lost his balance and fell over. They looked to the source of the noise as Pitchit came into the bathroom. He looked from a confused Yuri on the floor to an angry Yurio leaning on the wall.
"Euh... What did I stumble into?" he asked slowly backing away from Yurio and helping his friend up.
"Nothing much, Yurio was telling me how his plans to beat me in the free skate and I lost my balance." Yuri laughed.
Yurio sighed slightly with relief, he couldn't believe that he had confided in Yuri but he was still happy that he hadn't hung him out to dry. Pitchit shrugged before leaving the bathroom.
"We're all going back to the hotel, you guys coming?"
Yuri nodded and followed behind Pitchit. Yurio walked beside Yuri looking at his feet as he walked.
"Never tell anyone about this." Yurio mumbled.
"What was said in the bathroom stays in the bathroom." Yuri replied softly.
