[1] How It Started.

8 years ago.

I was on a cruise ship. My family and I were cruising for my vacation. My dad was at the big table drinking wine with my mom and many more people.I sat there ease dropping on this 'adult' conversation.

"-and after that she told me how I needed to grow some balls! What a mother!" My dad roared with laughter after that.

I fiddled with my fingers.

It was evening. I decided to go out for a walk along the cruise ship. My mom didn't agree at first because I was only ten years old but I sneaked out without being noticed by my drunk parents.

I got out and I inhaled the fresh air. The wind was blowing. The birds were chirping. I walked to the side of the ship and met a boy. This boy had curly brown locks, emerald eyes and was wearing a suit. Pretty fancy.

"Hi." I said waving at him. "Hello." He says, smiling back at me. I saw his dimples showing.

I watched the sea and how I saw some shadows in it. Must be dolphins.

I blew out air and inhaled again and filling the air in my cheeks making me look chubby. I heard a little laugh beside me. I looked to my right side and saw that boy laughing at me. I exhaled and blowing all my spit to his face.

"Hey!" He said in a very thick British accent. I showed my tongue at him and watched the seas again. "I'm Harry by the way." He held out a hand for me to shake. I shook it, " Alexis, pleasure to meet you Harry." I smiled.

"Harry! Come on, it's bed time!" I heard a voice across the ship. He turned around and shouted back. "Hang on Gemma! I'll be there!" And after that the voice replied,"Whatever you say Harry."

He turned back to me after that. "I have to leave now. Goodnight Alexis." "Goodnight Harry."

After a few minutes I decided to go back to my parents. I walk past the adults and the fancy children. I then spotted my parents table." Hey dad, can I go back to the room?" I asked my dad politely. "Yeah yeah, whatever hun." I guess he was still drunk. Sighing, I walked back to my room.

I twisted the door knob and went in. I jumped onto my bed and just like that, I fell asleep.

I woke up and as I placed both my feet down on the floor I felt water rising up to my knees. I panicked. "Mom? Dad? Where are you?!" No answer. I went to the door and tried twisting the knob but it wouldn't open. So I decided to pack a little. I knew it was going to be an adventure.

I went to my suitcase that was on top of the main cupboard and opened the zip quickly. I took out my waterproof backpack and filled in as much clothes, food and water as I can. I looked around for any weapons and found my dad's emergency gun in one of the drawers. I aimed the door knob and BAM it automatically opened. So much for not knowing how to use the gun.

I opened the door and looked at the empty hallway that was filled up with water. "Mom?! Dad?!" I yelled out again. "Anyone?!" And then I heard a bark. Yes, a bark. This cruise ship only let trained dogs to enter and only three of the lucky people can bring theirs. I searched for the dog. I went straight then turned right to the exit. I found a young Alaskan malamute barking. As I read, they used these type of dogs during World War II. Anyways, I decided to bring it with me and we went through the exit. The ship was literally empty and trashed. The ship was sinking. I held the dog close and started to walk towards the side of the ship and saw boats and rafts sailing away, further from the ship. "Help! help!" I yelled as many times as I could but the ships faded away in the mist.

The dog was squirming but I told it to hold still. So after that the ship actually sink. I was in the sea. With a dog, without floaties or life jackets. My feet paddled as hard as they could as I saw a big wooden board. I climb onto it and brought this Alaskan malamute with me. The board was actually big enough to fit two adults. I found a paddle a few meters away so I used my hands to paddle my way to it. I took the paddle and paddle my way to no where.

Here is my first chapter. I wanted to make it longer but I couldn't because them exams just....

So I will continue when I can so I hope you like it! :)

P.s. It's really short so I'll promise to do a longer chapter next time.
