I turned the news off and decided I was going to go to bed.
"Mary Jane!"
"What Sammy?"
"I can't sleep. I think someone is watching me."
"No one is watching you."
"Please?"
*sigh*
"Fine."
I get up and go to my sisters room. I open the door and look at the window. I see a movement as if someone were outside. I walk to the window and I don't see anything. I shrug it off as if it never happened, And decided I was tired and I might be seeing things.
"Where are they this time?"
Sammy pointed at the doll house.
I walked over to the doll house and pretended to talk to the dolls.
"Hey guys. You're freaking out my sister again.... Huh... Ok I gotcha... Oh I see..."
Sammy sat up and tried to hear what they were saying.
"Could you guys watch TV in there or something instead of watching her? Ok thank you... Yeah I can tell her... Alright goodnight."
"What did they say?" she asked me.
"They said they were sorry and they won't bother you anymore."
I told her.
"Can I sleep in your room tonight?" she asked me.
"I guess."
She jumped up out of bed and went into my room. I grabbed her blanket and pillow and went to my room. I gave them to her and she threw my stuff off my bed and onto the ground. I set it up on the floor and tucked Sammy in.
"Goodnight Sammy."
"Goodnight Mary Jane."

"When are mom and dad coming back again?"
"Tommorow. They decided to come home from their fishing trip early."
"Oh."
She sat there silently for about five minutes and decided to lay down. She fell asleep before me. I stayed up. I wasn't tired at all. I sat there thinking about my parents. And I looked at the alarm clock and noticed it was 1:39 am. I decided to go to sleep.I close my eyes and start to drift off.
Ding Dong!
I opened my eyes and listened closely to see if it was my dream or if it was real.
Ding Dong!
I sat up and looked at the clock. 3:30.
What would anyone be doing here at exactly 3:30 in the morning. I remembered what the news lady said. About keeping the doors and windows shut. I looked around the room.
Ding Dong!
I grabbed my softball bat and went downstairs. I held it with my left hand and hid it behind the door. I opened the door. It was a pizza delivery guy. I noticed there was no car in the driveway.
"Can I help you?" I asked trying to keep my voice from shaking.

"Did you hear me?"
The guy stared at me and he said nothing. I closed the door but his foot was in it. I started to get scared.
"Get back! Im warning you!"
I saw his hand reach into the house to help him push the door open. His head popped in. I grabbed the bat and hit him in the head as hard as I could. He fell to the ground. A black slime like liquid oozed out of his skull. It spread across the floor. I went up the stairs in the kitchen and got Sammy and woke her up. I kept the bat with me in case I needed it again.
"Wake up sammy! Someone's here."
"Is it mom and dad?" she asked rubbing her eyes.
"No just hurry!"
She jumped out of bed. I heard footstep come up the stairs.
"Get down." I whispered.
It was pitch black. We couldn't see anything. We listened.
We heard the floor creak. We saw the shadow under the door. It passed the door. I walked slowly to the door. I tried to look under the door but couldn't. I slowly turned the knob and opened it...

I peeked out.
There was a tall slender black figure standing in Sammy's room. I waved for Sammy to come to the door. I let her out first and followed close behind. I pointed to the stairs. She slowly walked to the stairs and I was still watching the figure. Sammy looked at it too and froze. It was turning around! We stayed still. It stopped and stared. Directly at me. We stared at each other for a little bit. It sprinted toward me. "Sammy! Get to the crawl hole!"
I was scared but I stared at the figure as it ran to me. I gripped the bat and ran at it. I slid like I do in softball and hit it in the knee and the leg flew off. I jumped over the railing down to the first floor. I went to the stairs and pushed on the wall. The wall popped out and I went in. I closed it. I heard screeching. And it stopped. I looked to make sure Sammy made it. She did. I heard it go down the stairs. It walked around the house for maybe three hours. And we heard the door open but it didn't close. The house was silent. I sat for ten minutes listening for anything. And I heard nothing. I opened the wall door and peeked out. The door was wide open. I went out to make sure it was gone. I didn't see it so I waved for Sammy to come out. We slowly walked to the door and I looked out the door. There was a sea of the figures. There weren't any in the street lights so I had an idea. I grabbed a flashlight from the drawer and went outside. None of them noticed so I grabbed my bat and gave the light to Sammy. I told her that if any of them come after us, shine the light at it. So we walked and I stepped on a stick. Every head instantly stared directly at us.
"Sammy!"
She shone the light at them and they screeched and ran off. Their skin melts in the light. We ran to the street light and I saw one in front of us. But Sammy was busy covering behind us so I grabbed the bat and hit the knees. It fell and we stood in the light. It screeched. And its leg grew back and it stood back up. My bat was cracked. Maybe one more hit before it breaks. We heard a loud screech above us and we look up. There was a huge eye. Maybe the size of earth itself. It was open. I thought it was the moon. The thing in the sky backed up from earth and I saw an arm. Its other arm came up to. And the arms both started to move towards earth. They were going to crush earth. The arms were moving very fast. I hugged Sammy and told her I loved her. The earth started to shake. And I heard millions of explosions. I saw the hand and a huge flash of light. The core of the earth spewed out of a crack in the earth. The hands stopped and grabbed the core of the earth and left. The world got cold. It started to get frosty. We couldn't breath. I remembered there were oxygen tanks for scuba diving in the shed so I ran to it and grabbed them all. They were heavy. I gave one to Sammy and put it on to her. I got one and put it on. I had started to get light headed and dizzy. I went to the house and got all of the blankets and coats. I gave them to Sammy. And I put the tanks under all her blankets. I undid my tank.
"You're going to need this more than I will. Go find more. Be careful. I love you Sammy." I said with my last breath. She was crying. Everything got darker than it already was. I closed my eyes. I felt myself start to float. I felt a hand. Then there was something on my face. I opened my eyes. There were people with tanks and space suits. They gave me an oxygen tank. I looked at Sammy she was being taken to a shuttle floating in the air. I was taken too. We got suits on and took off the masks.
The astronauts took off their helmets. And they told us.
We are the last people on the planet.
