Two years ago I was involved in a surfing incident that changed me. It changed my perspective on life. It changed who I was and who I was set to be. I told myself that I would never return to the ocean. That I would never touch a surfboard or even have a desire to surf.
Little did I know, three people would be able to change that.
Hi, my name is Malia Jade Ray. I'm 17, born June 18th 2000 in Elands Bay, South Africa. I moved to Perth, Australia last month after some crazy stuff went down here. I have no siblings which is cliche, right? That girl that moves from a continent that isn't spoken of a lot, has no siblings and has a crazy story on why she moved to the great Australia. Why didn't I move to America or something? Oh that's right. 'Too many memories' as my mother says.

It's crazy how one animal can change your life just as much as three people can. Fortunately, those people didn't give up unlike the animal.
