~Seymour's POV~
Why would he ask that question?
"U-um...well, I-I have once....I-I thought i-it was a-another snail t-that was d-drowning i-in the w-water....S-so, I j-jumped into t-the water i-in a-attempt to s-save h-him. But t-that's when I-I found o-out that i-it was actually j-just myself." I explained.
Grandfather then told me that he wanted to show me something that was kind of like the reflection in the water puddle. We neared the giants shell, but our approach was mirrored the basement window. Grandfather made me stand sideways to the window and look closely at my reflection. He wanted me to study how the coils on my shell and to tell him what I see.
I told him that my shell looked just like any other shells I've seen on the rest of the snails shells. He then instructed me to look at his shell and tell him if I noticed anything different. I was puzzled, his coil was opposite of the right-handed spiral of all other snail shells.
"I-I don't g-get what y-you're trying to t-tell me...." I said.
"Now look at my shell again, but this time through the window." He stated.
I looked at his shell through the window and gasped. Now his shell appeared to have a normal coil.
~No One POV~
This was how Grandfather had taught Seymour how reflections worked. Things were reversed when you look at them in a window or a puddle of water. Seymour pondered for a minute, then asked Grandfather if that means that he had a different coil as well. Grandfather nodded and then explained to Seymour that they both had left-handed whorls on their shells and that is what made them different. That's the real reason as to why they were outcasts.
Grandfather had then told Seymour that it was time to go watch the moon rise and that they were lucky considering that it was going to be a full moon.

Grandfather had led Seymour to a bare spot of ground, where he had asked Seymour if he had ever looked up to watch the sky.
"I-I never r-really had t-the chance c-considering I had t-to quickly e-eat and then r-run away b-before I w-was caught by m-my bullies....w-which one t-time, they h-had threatened t-to break m-my shell with s-sticks......"
"Don't worry little one. If any of those bullies come around, I promise that I will not let them hurt you." Grandfather smiled at Seymour.
Grandfather had then explained that it seemed as if they were just standing on a flat spot of ground, but if you traveled in any direction, new stars would appear above the horizon of the world. And if you looked back, you could see stars disappear below the part of the world you were going away from.
Grandfather then pointed out that the rubber ball that the giants' kids had left it out on the lawn, but that's how the world is. Round like a rubber ball. Grandfather spied the gleam of the moon through the shrubs and directed Seymour's attention there. Fearfully, Seymour had been looking but when he looked at the shrubs, he could also see a light shinning there.
In peaceful silence, Seymour and Grandfather sat there and watched the large bright disk slowly rise above the shrubs. Seymour was amazed, that he couldn't take his eyes off of the bright disk. The two watched all night, as the moon sailed across the sky and then it begun to set behind the row of trees on the other end of the garden.
