Claire's POV~

I woke up to my alarm clock playing 'Dancing With A Wolf' by All Time Low.

I honestly love this song, so I let it play for a while before shutting it off and getting out of bed.

It was the third week of summer vacation so you would think I would be sleeping until 11 a.m., but noooo, I need to train.

I got up and put my orange hair into a high pony, then threw on a pair of Nike shorts and a workout bra. I headed down to the kitchen for breakfast before training.

Once I got down there I saw the Luna, Maddie, cooking pancakes. I walked up to her,

"Why are you making breakfast so early? Usually it's cooked around 8, not 6." I wondered.

She seemed startled at my sudden presence, but then answered my question after realizing who I was,

"Oh I know, but today is the first day of training so I wanted to give the warriors a proper meal before you all go out and train until you puke. Come to think of it, breakfast probably wasn't a good idea." she chuckles.

I couldn't help but smile brightly at this amazing women, she was like a second mother to everyone in the pack. She was always there when you need to talk or just a shoulder to cry on, she put everyone else's needs before her own, and she did so without even batting an eye. She truly was a great women.

"Well thank you Maddie for the food, even if it doesn't stay down." we both giggled.

"Do I smell pancakes?!?!" My best friend, Ashton, called.

Me and Ashton have been friends since diapers, my dad and his were always super close so it made sense.

"Yes you do, fatty." I laughed.

"Well that would be why I call myself fat Ashton, so twig bitches like you don't do it behind my back." he replies sassily.

"Ashton! Language!" Maddie scolds from the stove.

"Sorry Luna." he says while hanging his head.

After breakfast we head outside to the training grounds. Once we get there we slit up into our groups for training.

The groups are organized by skill level. I'm in the highest with the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and a few other warriors, Ashton is in the second highest with the rest of the warriors, then there is the level for young teenagers that are just starting to get serious about training, last there is the level for kids 8-13 just for basic techniques and stuff.

We spent a few hours training in both forms, when Alpha Dave said it was time to quit.

I went back to my room and showered, and got dressed. I was sitting on my bed when my other friend, Tammie came in.

"Hey Claire? Do you want to go to the mall, we still need dresses?" she asked.

I looked at her confused.

"Dresses for what?" I wondered.

"For the royal ball silly, everyone has to go." she said excitedly.

The ball! I totally forgot. The Alpha King is looking for his mate. I don't see why I have to go, even if I was his mate, it's not like I would stay, I don't want a mate.

"Do I have to go?" I whined.

"Of course! It would be disrespectful if you didn't!" She exclaimed.

That is how I ended up going to twenty different stores looking for a stupid ball gown.

I was about to give up and go home when Tammie said,

"Oh my god!! I found the perfect one for you!"
