The end was near, Nikolai was the last one, at least that's what richtofen said. You did not trust him that much but the others seemed to believe him more. You knew what was coming, it made you feel bad for Nikolai, he's been through so much, and now he had to kill himself ?.
You went over to him to see if he was ok. " how do you feel Nikolai ?"
"I feel happy" he said, this made you feel weird, you thought he was going to be sad or something,"happy, why ?" You asked with a confused look on your face. He looked over at you with a little smile on his face, " because you are here with me." He while looking deep into your eyes, you were shocked by his answer,"what do you mean" you asked while blushing. "It's the first time I feel like this, since... since she was gone" you felt strange, you didn't like replacing someone that is no longer alive but you definitely felt something for the Russian, " (y/n), I-i love you"he said with a slight stutter, " i-" you where cut off by his lips slamming against yours, you kissed him back. When you parted for air you could see that tears were forming in his eyes, you hugged him tightly, and whispered in his ear " I love you too, Nikolai".
Nikolai wrapped his arms around your waist and said," there is no better cure to a broken heart then feeling loved again".
