Imagine Lily Potter coming home from her hair appointment, where she was supposed to just get her hair trimmed. She walks into the kitchen and sets down her keys and purse, and walks up behind James, who is sitting at the counter, paying their bills. She kisses the top of his head, and he reaches up to stroke her head. He turns around and catches a glimpse of her hair. Her once waist length hair now hits right below her shoulders. James freaks out, and because he has been spending too much time around Sirius, he begins to cry.
"LILY EVANS WHAT DID YOU DO TO YOUR HAIR?"
Lily laughs and just flounces out of the room, leaving a sobbing James to dramatically crumple from the chair to the floor in agony.
