-Zane's P.O.V.-

I nervously walked up the steps of (Y/n)'s house and I knock on the door, fidgeting with the sleeves of my sweatshirt. I could hear the door unlock and I watched as the door opened, revealing (Y/n)'s dad.

"Oh good morning, Zane. How are you?" Her father greets me, stepping back and allowing me to step in.

"Good morning, I'm good, how are you?" I asked as he shut the door behind me.

"I'm doin' alright! What's up kiddo?" Her dad replied, his unintentionally loud voice echoing the walk way.

"I wanted to ask if I could walk with (y/n) to school?" I stood up straight and tried to hide the nervousness in my voice.

"Sure, she's still in her room, you know which one it is right?" Her dad points up the stairs and to the left, much like (Y/n) had when we came here yesterday for dinner. "Oh I just made some banana nut muffins, would you like one?" He added before I had the chance to begin walking.

"Yes sir, thank you, is it okay if I grab one on the way out?" I didn't want to accidentally make a mess or do something embarrassing like that.

"No you HAVE to eat it right this second, of course it's okay help yourself they're on the table" He let out a hardy chuckle as he patted my shoulder and then walked away towards the back of the house.

I made my way up the staircase, stopping in front of (Y/n)'s door. Okay just knock, I raised my fist but before I could make contact with the door I heard Kaddy from behind me shout.
"HI (Y/N)'S BOYFRIEND!" Her loud voice squeaking and my eyes go wide. I turn around to see a door shut quickly.

"Zane!? What are you doing here?" I hear (Y/n)'s voice behind me, I turned around to face her. Her hair was wet, dripping small droplets of water on her school uniform.

"I came to walk with you to school. Your dad said I could come up." I pointed down the stairs like he was going to be stood there to corroborate my story.

"Oh! Okay come in, I just have to do my hair and my makeup." She said with a beaming smile. I stepped into her room and sat at the edge of her bed, watching her throw a small towel from her vanity into the bathroom.

"How come you didn't walk with your brothers?" She asked sitting at her vanity and patting the bench next to her, signaling me to sit beside her. I stood up and walked over to her, sitting on the not very long bench seat, our legs so close together a small gust of wind could make them touch.

"I wanted to walk with you." My face beginning to feel warm. What's wrong with me? I never act this way around Aphmau or Katelyn.

"Thanks and not to be weird or anything but you smell nice." She took a deep breath and continued with her makeup. "Like vanilla, I think." She was right, that's the scent of shampoo I use.

"You kind of smell like strawberries." I looked at her through the reflection of the mirror, she was leaned in close while she did some type of eye makeup, her eyes flicked up towards me for a moment longer than necessary. She leaned back up and grabbed a small bottle of perfume, handing it to me and returning back to her leaned position. I flipped the bottle in my hands, reading the label, 'strawberries and cream' with little pictures of strawberries on cakes in the background.

"You have a really good /SENTS/ of smell." Giggling at her own pun she looked at me through the mirror. I rolled my eyes, my mask hiding my smile from her. I think she could tell though, that I was smiling, it's hard not to smile around her.

"I like the way you do your make up. You're really good at the..." I paused searching for the right word, I gestured to my eyes. "Wings?" I guessed, but her impressed smile told me I was right. She turned to face me and squinted her eyes like she was investigating something. Without warning she pulled my mask down. Anyone else had done that I would have yelled at them, but something about her doing it to me, made my face feel flushed.
