"Ah, so this is where you ran off to?"Thessalia jumped, dropping a biscuit in the process. She turned around to meet Prince James smirking at her. She frowned. Already she decided she doesn't like him and now he is here smirking at her. "I didn't...run off. I simply went to get a biscuit," she said grabbing another one and taking a bite. "There very good. Want a taste?" Thessalia handed him a biscuit.
Prince James chuckled and Thessalia felt her heart swoon. His laugh was deep, seductive and warm. "Don't mind if I do," he said as he grabbed her biscuit and took a bite. Thessalia's mouth fell open. "Hmm. You're right, it does taste very tasty," he said with a wink.
The Princess's face flushed red as Prince James handed her back the biscuit. "Umm..." she was at lost for words. She swallowed. "Do you want another one?"
James shook his head. "No thank you, Princess," he said with a smile. Something about this girl intrigued him.
"You know you don't have to call me, princess, right?" Thessalia said with a hint of annoyance. "You can call me Thessalia." She grabbed another biscuit and took a small bite. Her heart started to race as Prince James touched her arm, sending shivers throughout her body.
"Oh, I know, Princess" James said running his fingers down Thessalia bared arm. He loved the affect he had on her. "But Princess just suits you better."
Her eyes stayed on the spot where he had touched her, she let out a breath. Get a grip, she told herself. "Oh, okay," she said, looking at him.
Music started to play, people started to go on the dance floor and dance in sync to the music. Thessalia took her eyes off of James and turned to watch. She could feel his eyes on her as she watched. Her heart stopped as she felt his breath on her neck. She gasped as his hand went into hers.
"Care to dance, Princess?" Prince James said softly, his hand still intertwined with hers, as he stood in front of her. Her face was flushed and he smiled. She was so beautiful, her hair black as night and her eyes...Oh how they sparkled.
James noticed that she didn't answer, she just stared at him. "Princess? Do you want to dance?" He asked again, with a small grin.
No! Yes! No! Yes! Thessalia thought as she stared at him. She hated dancing. But for some reason she wanted to dance with him. "Yes," she said quietly.
"Good," James said as he led her to the dance floor. Everyone moved out of the way as Princess Thessalia was making her way through. She could feel everyone's eyes on her, even her parents and she started to regret saying, yes.
"Just ignore everyone." She looked up at James. "Pretend their not here."
She nodded her head. "O-okay."
They got to the middle of the dance floor and the song started to play. Thessalia slowly put her hands around his neck and gasped as she felt his hands go on her waist, pulling her close to him.
James started moving as she did, their feet gracefully moving to the beat of the music. Suddenly, she wasn't afraid anymore as she was twirled then landed gracefully back into James arms. He smiled down at her, she chuckled. "You're a wonderful dancer," he said as he intertwined his hand in hers.
Thessalia smiled. "Thank you. You're not so bad yourself."
"Oh, Princess, I'm wonderful," James said, smiling. He twirled her around again, pulled her close, and stared into her eyes.
She looked up at him. They were close. Thessalia could feel his heart beat in his chest. Slowly, he dipped her, his eyes looking at her parted lips. "Is it bad that I want to kiss you?" And in that moment everything stopped, including her heart. Her eyes betrayed her as they landed on James lips. She wanted to kiss him, badly, but she just met him. And she wasn't that type of girl.
Thessalia's eyes landed back on James'. "Yes," she whispered.
James sighed. Why did I have to say that? He gently pulled her back up, her heart was still racing. He let go of her as the music ended and was about to walk away when he heard a scream.
"She's back. She's back! Hide! Run!" It was a man covered in blood and he made his way to the King screaming.
Immediately everyone started screaming. James grabbed Thessalia hand and ran to their parents.
"Father. Mother. What is going on?" Thessalia was by her parents side. They didn't answer as their faces were white with fear. She looked at the man and notice he was muttering something.
"Dark...her...dead...alive...witch...cold...Athena..."
Athena?
"Sir, I need you to look at me. Who is Athena?"
The man looked at her, fear was in his eyes. "She's...she's..." He never got to finish his sentence as his neck was snapped and then there was laughter.
Evil laughter.
"She's really back..." Thessalia heard her mother say. Her eyes followed her mothers and she gasped.
