"Breakfast is served."
Akemi serves Kyoko a small-sized bowl of rice with a cup of water. He glances at her with a squint in his eyes.

"What the heck is this?" He complains.
"This isn't what I asked for! This is just- this isn't even friggin' breakfast!"

Kyoko was always known for wanting things his way and not the other way around. And to top it all off, he hated rice.

"We're in the middle of TEKUTASAITO WAR!! DO YOU THINK I CARE ABOUT WHAT FOOD IT IS?! THIS IS THE ONLY FOOD WE CAN GET!!!"

Kyoko begins to peer at his rice bowl with an angry look.

This was probably the only tension that went on in Andromeda before war

This was probably the only tension that went on in Andromeda before war. Everything was fine, not even little kids were fighting. It feels so different now.

"Kyoko! We need to get ready! It's 9:56!"
"And when does battle start?"
"10:15!"

They get their guns and armor. Each time a person fights in war, they receive about 1,000 yen, which is about 8.79 in US dollars. Anyone who gets killed is taken away their yen and funded into the Tekutasaito service, which funds all armor, weapons, cannons, defense machinisms, etc.

And then, there's battle week.
Every two weeks is battle week where everyone fights for an hour or two. The weeks in between are just weeks to get ready and Store up on food and even relax a little.

Kyoko runs through the battlefield with his armor, excited for war. Akemi wasn't too interested in war. She was paranoid and afraid to even peek outside of the wall she always hides behind.

Everyone stands in a orderly fashion before war. They sing "The Anthem Andromeda".
Everything is pretty much named after that galaxy.

"Watashitachi ga kiretsu o tsukinukeba, watashitachiha ude o age,'andoromeda no tame ni!' To sakebimasu. Wareware wa andoromeda no tame ni tatakau!"

Then, everyone goes berserk.

Guns start shooting, and Kyoko just screams "YES!"

He starts shooting at people and kills about 4. He left the battle untouched, not a single scratch on his body.

And then, Akemi.
She runs screaming through all the bullets swirling within her. The explosions are booming within the vibrations of sound waves, hurting her ears so bad. The people are falling down within injury and death, and she runs for her life attempting not to end up like one of them.

Luckily, it's Friday and battle week comes to an end.

"What was that?" says Kyoko.
"It was the best that I could do, ok?"

They both walk back home through the abandoned streets filled with fog and smoke. Everything is gray except for the sky. The sky is probably the most beautiful thing about Andromeda. It's full of stars and clouds and it's a gradation of blue and white swirled within each other.

They both look up at the sky and ponder in silence.

What is beyond this war?

"I don't feel too good," Kyoko says in a croaky voice.
He lifts his shirt and sees a little gray, shiny spot slowly growing on his chest.

"What the-" says Akemi.

He stars to scream at the top of his lungs. His eyes get flooded with tears as his voice destroys Akemi's eardrums.

ZAP

Tentacles burst out of Kyoko's chest. He starts to scream again. You can hear his pain within his vocal chords.

"What is going on?!"
