See You Again (Bokuto Kotaro x reader)

See You Again

War. It is a beautiful thing to generals and commanders who never actually see it face to face. They don't have to raise their gun at every little rustle of leaves. They sleep in their king sized beds with their wife and their kids in the next room.

But to the common soldier, war is a nasty thing. It's kill or be killed. No negotiations. No regrets. No chances.

You live by these rules so you can come home to your family in a few weeks. Your family is your one and only motivation. They need you.

You are returning home from your fifth tour of war in a foreign country. On the plane, you looked at a picture of your family. Your husband, your eldest son, and your twin son and daughter. You haven't seen them for a year. You couldn't wait to see how much they've grown.

That's when your commanding officer, called you, "BOKUTO!"

You stood up, "Sir, yes Sir."

"Come up here for a moment." he called back

You went up there and he asked, "Do you know how to fly a plane?"

"Yes sir." You were very skilled.

"Then help him fly this one."

He directed you over to the cockpit where the co-pilot was trying to control the plane on his own. Your instincts took over as you immediately removed the unconscious pilot from his seat and sat down. You flipped a few switches and put the headphones on your head to hear the co-pilot screaming into them.

"Calm down." You said, not looking over at him. "You screaming is not going to get us out of this mess."

"But I have- I have kids at home who need- they need me to get back to them!"

"What is your name?" You asked still pushing several buttons to stabilize the plane.

"What?" He exclaimed, terrified.

"I said, what is your name?" You said, still calm.

"S-sugawara Koushi"

"Ah, may I call you Suga?"

"Sure. But why-"

"Listen, we all have a family to get back to. So we have to work together in order to get everyone back home safe." He nodded and started to calm down.

"Captain!" You yelled. He came over to my side. "Go get me Iwaizumi and Ushijima!" He nodded and ran off. They soon came to your side and you explained what you needed them to do. "I need Ushijima to fix the wiring under the floor of the cockpit. There is a latch that will open it up. Iwaizumi, I need you to start helping the soldiers with motion sickness." They both nodded and got to work.

Soon Ushijima was able to fix the wiring and you were able to stabilize the plane and fly the rest of the way to the base.

Captain Ukai was very surprised in how calm you were. You simply told him it was your family who motivated you.

This is it. I finally get to see my family.

They were waiting for you by the front. You were able to spot them out by how tall your husband was.

You start running to the man with black and white spiky locks, "KOTARO!" You screamed dropping your bags to jump into his beefy arms. Tears started trickling down your face, as his hands start ruffling your hair and he kisses you passionately. He puts you down so you can see your children.

Leo, your eldest son (age 8), sheds tears as he jumps up into your arms, he ends up being heavier than you remember and you end up falling to the ground. He continues to hug you, while your other two children, Tetsuro and Tora (ages 4), come around your sides. You named them after your two best friends when growing up.

They finally release you after your captain comes over to you and your family. You scramble up to greet him.

"Listen, (Y/n), you saved everybody's life and I've already talked to the higher ups and they want you and your family to come to the capital for you to be honoured."

"I really don't need-"

"That's what you always say. But this time, you have no choice." he said smiling. "I'll give you the times and stuff later on." He waved and walked back over to his own family.

You looked at Kotaro and shrugged.

"I know you did something and you have to tell me." He said crossing his arms.

"Says who?"

"Says the guy you said 'I do' to 8 years ago." He said, giving you your wedding ring. You didn't like taking it on tours.

"It was nothing." But you ended up telling him in the car because of his constant whining. He drove you to a restaurant where your best friends surprised you (you had a feeling since they did it the last 4 times).

Tooru and Tetsuro were the first ones to greet you and talk about how their lives were going, mainly Tooru though. Then Asahi gave you a hug and asked you how you've been, the usual. What shocked you was you saw Suga from the plane. You excused yourself from the conversation as you went to him.

"Suga?"

He looked up "Oh hey! Would you like to meet my family, they went to go order."

"Sure!"

He got up and led you over to a man and three small children.

"This is Tobio," he said pointing to the one with black hair, "this is Kei," this one was a bit taller with blonde hair and glasses, "this is Shouyo," this one was in the other man's arms blabbering nonsense, "and this is my husband Daichi." He concluded and Daichi stuck out his free hand.

You took it and told him how great Suga was at piloting and how that his family was all that was on his mind.

"No, Dai, if it wasn't for her, none of us would be here right now." He said, causing you to wave it off.

"I'm serious." He pleaded and you just had to stop him.

"Please, don't. I just did what I had to." You said as you thought of something. "Hey, why don't you guys come join us, it's just a bunch of my friends and my family."

They looked shocked then nodded.

You all had a great time that night, Daichi and Suga fit in with everybody and you all made new friends.

As you drove home, because Kotaro was a bit buzzed, Tora asked a question that made everyone listen.

"Why do you keep leaving?"

I just responded with a light chuckle and stated, "So you can live a good life, and the greatest feeling is to see you again."

Okay this was really fun to write, I think I found inspiration for this from Katy Perry's Part of Me. I love that song I don't know why. Also, I really want to be in the military and have the "coming home" scene to happen in real life. Ok that's it
