Soft sand glided across my feet, gradually morphing into wet slush. It squashed between my toes, splashing when i walked; a trail of footprints sharply following after. Now and then a small pinch would clip the edge of my foot, leaving a blister like lump; the cause, hermit crabs. The sun was setting, huddled between the rocks of the cliff face, the warm colours emitting from it sneakily imbedded their flames into the now fluorescent mat orange sky.
All concepts of time and space seemed to slip away, left with the constant reel of my wandering mind. The scene played over and over in my head, sorta like an oxymoron. Huh, iconic right?...
I spaced out, suddenly presented with his face. The one thing i tried to block out this past year.
