She Cares [2]

So the day has come along me! First day back at school after summer vacation, great.

I had a peaceful summer no interruptions, just me & my guitar,  i managed to actually write some songs.

When I got to school I see the big sign "Welcome Back! To Summerfall High!" It sends shivers down my spine every year.

As I walked through the gates I got the usual stares and a few people were whispering to their friends while they stared, I don't really care what they're saying, I wish they'd just let me get on with my day.

I managed to get past the crowds of people and found my homeroom, I was the first one there apart from the teacher.

"Hello! Are you In this room this year?" He asked me

"Umm yeah I'll just sit at the back" I mumbled

I've never liked getting attention from teachers.

"Don't be shy! What's your name!" He said way to happy for his own good

"Umm I'm Shane, nice to meet you" I mumbled putting my hand out

He shook it.

"I'm Mr Mathison" I was hoping he'd just let me read my book but he kept starting conversations.

He suggested I go and put my stuff in my locker but I declined, as much as I wanted to get out of there the hallways would be much worse!

Eventually the rest of the class decided to turn up! At least I didn't need to sit near any of them, I was happy at the back on my own.

The first couple of periods were over, finally.

It was Lunch and most kids have trouble on where to sit well not me! I don't even go to the cafeteria I found a nice spot outside on the benches! I don't even need to go in there because I bring lunch from home.

I was writing some new material in one of my Hundreds of books when someone walked over to me?

"Hey umm do you know where the science block is?" She asked, she had quite a soft voice almost angelic.

"Uhhh yeah it's just through that door over there" I replied, she smiled

"Thanks, sorry to ask but why are you on your own?" I tried to put in a smile but it didn't really work

"Umm well I just like alone time" I replied trying to sound confident.

"oh um sorry if I intruded in your alone time" I smiled

"Its ok, everyone is new once" I flashed her a smile as she walked away

She was pretty but I didn't have time to be thinking about girls I need to focus on....stuff.

After school I got home and heard arguing, it's probably my parents...again.

I put my head towards the door where my sister was doing the same.

"What's it this time??" I asked Cora, that's her name by the way

"I don't know I only just got here!" She whispered back

We heard footsteps coming towards the door, we both sprinted to the kitchen and out into the yard.

My dad walked out with rage in his eyes, they've been arguing a lot, I know what your thinking they're going to break up! But that's the problem they've broken up over 5 times! And they always come back after about a month.

He greeted me and asked "how was school?" The thing was my parents didn't really know my situation, to be honest they didn't really know me or Cora, they don't know us! I know it may sound weird but they just don't know our likes and dislikes, they don't even appreciate I like making music.

"It was fine" I said looking down

Immediately Cora pulled me over too her.

"What happened!!?" She exclaimed

"Nothing...yet"

The reason she said all this is because last year I kept getting beat up by all the jocks, even the nerds were going at me! They were showing everyone how week I really was.

"Look I can handle it!" I said making my voice be heard

"Ok" she said hugging me tightly

I love Cora, she so overprotective but that just means she cares unlike anyone else, she's there for me no matter what.
