A/N
I know it's late but hope you like. You might need some tissues though

It had been two weeks since Namjoon left on his business trip with his ex. Hyunwoo was a wreck after their break up, threatening me. And then Yoongi when we adopted him. We adopted from different mothers, so the boys weren't blood related. I adopted Yoongi from a seventeen year old girl. Her boyfriend left, not wanting the baby. She didn't know what else to do, and she wanted the best for her son, which meant giving him away. Hyunwoo never liked me. And I don't trust him.

"Eomma?" Jungkook tugged at my sleeve. I looked down at him and smiled.

"Yes baby?" I said, scooping him up into my arms.

"When is appa coming home?"

My smile dropped. My heart ached. What could I tell him? Tell him that his father is with his horrible, stalking ex? That I'd kicked him out? That I'd broken up our family?

"Eomma! Don't cry!" Jungkook hugged me, and frantically looked around for anyone. I didn't realise that tears were falling down my cheeks. "A-are you okay...?"

"Yes, Kookie baby. I'm fine." I said, but it sounded pained in my ears. Broken.

Jungkook looked at me, as if he was debating if I was fine or not.

"I know, how about we make a cake for your hyungs for after school? Yeah? Wouldn't that be fun?"

He thought for a moment, then nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! I want a chocolate cake!" He crawled off my lap. "Come on Eomma!" He scrambled into the kitchen, waiting for me.

--time skip--

It was late now. Yoongi was the only other one awake. He was sat at the coffee table on the floor, doing math. I was reading.

"Hey, Eomma."

"Hm?" I looked up at Yoongi. "What is it baby?"

"Are you okay?" He asked. "I'm worried about you Eomma. Appa hasn't called this week at all. You're upset... has he..." Yoongi choked back a sob, tears pricking his eyes. "Left us?" It was a whisper, but I heard it so clearly. I pulled Yoongi up, so he was snuggled into my side.

"I don't know, baby." I said honestly. "I don't know. Your appa and I had a fight. Things didn't go well."

"I remember." Yoongi nodded.

"We need some space. Your appa would never leave such an amazing big boy like you."

Yoongi nodded and yawned.

"Come on, let's get you to bed." I said softly.

I was wrong. Namjoon didn't come home. It had been three days since he was due back in Korea. It broke my heart to see the boys waiting for him by the front door, hoping he would walk through the door. They stayed up till eleven, and then slept on the sofa, all cuddled up together. It hurt to see that Yoongi had gotten into more fights, because people were being horrible about his father disappearing on them. It hurt to see Jungkook staring up at me, asking when his appa would be home. Hoseok was less bubbly. Taehyung had grown more quiet. And Jimin cried. A lot. Had breakdowns. He needed a father figure. He missed him. So many nights I'd find him sniffling in the dark of his room, his two brothers asleep. He dreamt of his appa leaving forever. They were all scared.

Then, when the fifth day rolled around, the phone went off.

"Hello?"

"I'm sorry to bother you, but are you Kim Seokjin?" A woman asked. Her voice soft, almost apologetic.

"Yes, speaking."

"I'm sorry to inform you-"

My heart dropped.

"-that your husband Kim Namjoon was in a car accident five days ago. He's just been identified."

I could feel the tears running down my cheeks.

"Are you able to come to Seoul hospital?" She asked. I thought for a moment. We lived in Busan. That's a three hour drive away...

"Yes." I answered. Voice small. She gave Namjoon's room number, then i hung up. I quickly dialled my sisters number.

"N-Noona..." I choked out.

This made me cry writing this. I hope you like, and that you didn't cry too much.

Fighting!
