Eve's POV

Oh, hi there! My name is Eve Youngblood, but you probably know that already. I go to Weatherworth High, and I'm a sophomore. I draw, write- Wait. Why don't I just get to the point.

It was just another Monday. Same old, same old. I walked through the doors and went to go sit down at my usual spot, for I was an hour early like usual. I turned to sit at my table, but someone else was sitting there. I don't think I've ever seen him before. (Description of Daniel here). I don't like to confront people, so I just sat at the next to him. I tried to make it look like that seat was my goal; I'm not sure if it was successful, though. I sat and looked around for a minute or so; I do take pleasure in checking my surroundings. Then I pulled out my sketchbook and thought about what I could draw. I looked around again. My eyes landed on him, the kid sitting at my table. He sat about twelve feet away. I suddenly felt like just staring at him, but I can't. I know better. That, and it's really awkward when you get caught staring at someone. I reluctantly looked back down at my empty slate. I started to draw out the head, chest, abdomen, and the joints for the arms and legs using various shapes such as circles and squares. Those shapes will then be replaced by the actual shape of the body. I looked up to look at the kid and continued to draw. I repeated this about three more times. The third time he wasn't there, though. I looked around.

"That's pretty good.", The voice came from behind me.

I jumped and snapped my head around; he was standing behind me. I pressed my sketchbook to my chest, and he sat down across from me.

He said in a friendly tone, "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just saw you keep looking at me and you were scribbling in your book. My curiosity got the better of me.", he grinned.

At that moment I realized I might as well have stared at him. My face stated burning up. I mumbled, "Sorry... I didn't have anything else to draw..."

He looked around and stuck a thumb at a small tree in a pot behind him, "That looks good."

My face burnt up more. I must've looked like a tomato by now.

He changed the subject by saying, "My name is Daniel. Nice to meet you!", he stuck out his hand.

I looked at his hand, then his face, then back at his hand. I reluctantly grasped his. I was surprised, it was warm and dry. Not many people have warm and dry hands, I learned.

He looked content with himself; I couldn't figure him out.

Since he did tell me his name, it would only be right if I told him mine, "My name is Eve..."

Look, it's not that I hate people, I just hate people. I didn't like the prospect of being all buddy-buddy with him (no matter how good looking he is). I move way to often due to my... family history...

     "That's a pretty name."

Howdy y'all! I know it's been a long time since I've published anything (not that anyone's following me... D':), but I'm back! You all can thank Comet for me. Shout-out to Dominic Diola!
