There really aren't any rules against going into Sector 17 but no one ever did. If someone did venture out there no one knew about it. And maybe that was because of some other rules.
There were unspoken laws about Sector 17, certain things that weren't socially acceptable. You did not speak about it, you did not read about, if you past the circular cliff around it on your way home you didn't even look at it. Violating these would result in severe chastising.
No one knew what would happen after making that mistake twice. There were rumors that you were buried alive or flown out and dropped in the middle of the East Labet Desert.
Everyone in this town was scared out of their wits of Sector 17 and none of us even knew what was inside.
Despite this unsettling mystery, the
East American Empire stayed peaceful inside and out.
