“Oh god Harley, are you okay? Do you want to leave?” I ask as the 3 men get closer and closer and closer by the second. I look at Harley and she is frozen in her spot.

“Harley!” I say loud enough so she can hopefully hear me and she isn’t in her own world.

"Mmm, yeah. I umm, I-I’m fine. Can we go, please?” She stutters.

We turn around and a few moments later I hear a very familiar voice behind us.

“Leaving so soon huh?” He hovers over Harley and I. I can tell she’s afraid, but I’m not. This man has the nerve to even speak to her.

“What do you want Anthony, to cause more trouble than you already have?” I challenge, hatred already taking over me.

“Look, I just wanted to apologize.” He says softly, but I don’t buy it.

“Apologize? After drugging her and nearly killing her, 3 years ago, you want to apologize?” I laugh.

“Yes Anna. I really am sorry, I was drunk and I-“

“Woah woah woah! Stop. Why are you apologizing to me? You should be saying sorry and explaining to her! Although I doubt she would forgive you, but worth a try” I point to Harley, who is sitting down on one of the chairs outside Myer, as I say ‘her’.

Anthony walks over to Harley and I wish we didn’t come here, at least not this mall. I stand a few feet away from them as he talks to her, far enough that I can hear what he’s saying and I can protect Harley if he tries to hurt her.

“I don’t want to speak to you Anthony.” She practically shouts at him.

“Okay, then don’t speak. Just hear me out, please”

“No. I know what you’re doing. You’re gonna act all innocent and when I fall for it you’re just gonna use me like last time. So no, I will not hear you out this time. Lets go Anna. Goodbye Anthony.” I am shocked at her words, I didn’t know she was this strong, I thought she was going to break down and cry in front of everyone.

As we walk away I don’t even turn back to see if he is running after us, I know he isn’t.

We get to the car and I suggest driving so Harley can relax until we get back to her apartment.

“My apartment or yours?” I ask as I start the car.

“Yours, if that’s okay?” She says almost like a question

“Yeah sure. You okay?”

“Yeah, I just can’t believe he was there and he wanted to apologize, like what? He seems so different-“ She pauses. “but I’m not buying it.”

“Proud of you for standing up to him like that” I mention.

“Yeah I don’t know, it just sort of came out” we both laugh and I decide to turn on the radio, in perfect timing as ‘Midnight Memories” comes on and we both sing along.

“So, how is Brendon?” Harley asks as I unlock the door and I immediately blush at her question.

“Oh yeah. He’s good, he’s in London at the moment visiting family.” I miss him so much.

“Aww, when does he come back?"

“3 days. Wanna come and pick him up at the airport?” I ask, getting excited to finally see my boyfriend.

“Yeah, sure. I’ll just sleepover on Saturday, yeah?”

“Yeah! I’m just gonna put my stuff in my room then we can have dinner.” I tell Harley.

As I open the bedroom door, there is a paper on the bed so I walk over to see what it is. I recognize the handwriting and as I read the note I am surprised, confused and happy at the same time.
