Phoenix POV-
Why must we have to go to school!? What's the f**king point!? I groan loudly and sit up on my bed rubbing my eyes. I grab my phone and see it's only six in the morning. Yawning I get up and head to the shower. I click my main playlist and get in the water.
Gosh, first day of sophomore year. I still got three whole years left of school. Maybe I should just drop out. I chuckle at that thought. Nah, my mom would kill me.
I wrap myself in a towel and walk back into my room reading and replying to my text messages from my two best friends, Levi and Ashley.

L: Should we meet by the stairs in the front of the school??
A: Yeah, I'm down. What about you Phoenix?
L: Phoenix you there??
A: I swear this b***ch better not be asleep
P: Chill Ash, I was in the shower and to answer Levi, yes lets meet there. I should be there in 30 minutes.
A: Sweet, see you both soon. XOXO
L: Bye!

I get dressed and do my makeup. I then grab my blow dryer and blow dry my hair so that I can slightly curl my hair. I grab my bag and the keys to my metallic black mustang and head downstairs.
I see my mom, my little sister and little brother sitting at the table eating and chatting.
"Where's father?"
I ask my mom while grabbing a banana and a water bottle.
"He's um. He had to leave early."
I sigh and lock my jaw. By that, my mom means he never came home last night. Which also means he's been drinking. I give everyone a hug and kiss on the cheek and walk out of the house.
I get in my car and connect to Bluetooth and play my music on shuffle and the first song to play is Believer. I start to pull out of the drive way when a silver Subaru speeds past almost hitting me. My dads car. I wish my dad wasn't the way he was. He wasn't always the drunk type of guy, but you can't change the past. I open my banana and fully pull out of the drive way

I get out of my car and head for the front of the building. I start to climb the stairs when someone almost pushes me down them.
"I am so sor-"
"What the f**k! You almost killed me!"
I scream to the person who hit me and push them back. When I look up I see a boy with a bruised eye and blood coming from his nose. I stare at him wondering 'who the f**k did he messed with?'
He then stares at my for a moment that seemed like forever, not knowing what to say.
"Get your a** over here Axel, we're not done yet!"
"Yeah you can't hide from us!"
His, I mean Axels eyes go wide and he goes back to running down the steps then he heads to the parking lot and gets in his car and drives off through the back of the school.
"Hey, Phoenix. Have you seen a nerd around? Has a bruised eye and is possibly bleeding?"
Bradford, captain of the football team and son of the vice principal at school, asks me while his group of friends laugh.
"Nope. Sorry"
I push past him to get to the top where my friends are, but he grabs my a** and groans.
"D**n girl. I like what you have, I'd tap that."
His friends sniker and I turn towards him and punch him on the jaw. He stagers back a bit and cups his jaw.
"Don't ever f**king touch me again or I will do worse. D**k."
I look back to see if that guy from earlier is around, but he isn't. I wonder if he's new here, I've never seen him around. And I know basically everyone here. I sit next to Ashley as she starts to talk about everything that happened to her in summer.
This is what I hate most about coming back to school from breaks, because mine usually consists of jail time, problems at home, and using whatever money I have for my family.
I sigh out loud and rub my forehead, a headache creeping up.
"You okay?"
I look up to see Levi looking at me with a curious look on his face.
"Is it your dad?"
He whispers this last part so Ashley doesn't hear. Levi is one of the two people that knows about him. My father. I really can't talk about it because it's still a touchy subject, but he helps me with that problem and does an even bigger solid by keeping it a secret.
"Yeah, it was just a long summer break. Now we better turn our attention to Ash before she loses it."
He nods his head and looks back and Ash listening to her fantastic story about her summer break. The bell finally rings fifteen minutes later and Ashley whines because she never finshed her story. Levi and her walk ahead of me to our class.
I don't know what I did to deserve these two amazing people. They cause trouble with me. We get in trouble together. They are just amazing people.
"Watch where you're going s**t"
I hear a high pitched voice. Jazmine. I turn around and face her.
"What did you just call me?"
"You heard me b***h."
"I swear to God I am about to pu-"
"Phoenix, she isn't worth it."
I lock my jaw and give Jazmine a death glare.
"You're lucky my friends stopped me. I was about to break you."

I start to walk away when she pulls my hair and turns me around and punches me. This raises everyones attention to us and they all start chanting and recording.

"That's it, b***h is getting it."
I look back at her and punch her in the gut and then her jaw which sends her backwards onto the floor. I get on top of her and start punching her.
Left. Right. Left. Right. Left. My fists collide with her face. Someone then comes from behind and pulls me off of Jazmine and punches me. She then gets me in a headlock. One of her minions possibly. I struggle for a bit, then I remember what my couch tought me.
I pull my arm up and elbow the chick in the stomach and grab her arm. I pull her over my shoulder and slam her on the floor. I wipe the blood off the corner of my mouth and spit on the other girl. I hate when other people interfere with a fight. I then turn around and bump into the principle.
"Mrs. Lopez."
Well.....
I'm f**ked.
