Picture is inspiration for the character Joshua.

“Shane, stop pacing! You’re making us nervous…” Sam shifts around in his chair in the waiting room. Alexander is fidgeting nonstop.

I stop pacing and glance at both him and Alexander, “He’s awake and he doesn’t remember us. What do you expect me to do?”

“The doctor said it could just be from not being functional for a year…”

“That’s looking at the bright side of things.” I’m not an optimist. I’m not going to get my hopes up just so they could be crushed.

The doctor walks into the waiting room and over to us. He looks at me grimly and says, “Well, I’m sorry Shane, but he has amnesia, to put it simply.”

“Does he remember anything?” I sigh.

“He remembers small fragments of his childhood, but nothing of what happened last year.”

“So, he doesn’t remember me… GAHH!!” I punch the wall then lean my head against it, choking back sobs. Joshua doesn’t remember who I am, which means that he doesn’t remember what we’ve done, how we feel about each other, or Taylor trying to kill us. My heart aches…

“You can go in and see him if you’d like,” the doctor says and walks away. We walk into his room hesitantly. This is probably going to be really awkward…

Yep, what did I tell you? AWKWARD. Joshua stares at each of us, one at a time, for a moment, and then looks out the window and states calmly, “I don’t know you.”

“Joshua, not even us?” Alexander points to himself and Sam, “We’ve known you for years!”

“Nope. Nothing is familiar to me.”

“Not even the guy you’re in love with?” Sam asks, throwing all of us off guard. He points to me and I stare back at him wide-eyed, my mouth ajar. I slowly, and I mean very slowly, shift my eyes over to Joshua. He’s staring back at me with those playful black eyes of his. They’re actually brown, but most of the time they have a black tint to them so I just decided he’s a demon with black eyes.

“You’re the one I love? So I’m gay?” he blinks.

            “You’re bisexual,” Sam states.

“I top, right?” His eyes are smirking at me. At least he’s still teasing me.

            “We’ve only done it once.”

“What? No way. Just staring at you gives me a boner. How the hell did we not do it more?”

I blush at this. He’s really open about that, isn’t he? I scratch my cheek and look away, saying, “W-Well, there were some complications…”

            “You didn’t want me?”

“Of course I do!” I cover my mouth quickly, staring at Joshua wide-eyed.

“Of course you do?” There’s that playful smirk I’ve been waiting for, “why not come have a seat?” he pats his lap.

“D-don’t be ridiculous! We’re in a hospital and you haven’t been awake in a year… I doubt you’re even functioning properly,” I grin at the last thing I said.
