When Ezra awoke again he was strapped to a metal chair in a different room. Instead of looking like a black box, it looked like a grey box. With a shock Ezra realised that he was in a room identical to the one that he had found his master in when he had gone to rescue him. Ezra reached out with the force, searching for Darth Vader. He found him down the hall, his anger and frustration coming off him in waves. Darth Vader could sense the boy was awake, he also sensed that the boy was reaching out with the force. "Hmm, let's go and see if the boy is willing to talk now." Vader mused to himself. Back in his cell Ezra heard what Vader had said, he didn't want to admit but he was scared. Ezra had heard horrible stories about what Darth Vader could and would do. Ezra still couldn't believe that someone so caring, loving and loyal could become someone so vile and evil. The sound of heavy boots clomping down the hallway brought Ezra out of his daze. He knew it was Vader he could hear his mangled breathing through the cell door. Ezra took a deep breath trying to calm his racing heart, just as the door of his cell opened and Vader walked in. As Darth Vader walked into the cell and felt out with the force, he was a little surprised to sense that the apprentice wasn't afraid. The only thing he felt was defiance, defiance that would be short lived. Ezra could feel Vader poking around in his mind with the force. "So are you going to ask me anything or are you just going to stand there, didn't your mother teach you that it was rude to stare." Ezra could tell that he had struck a nerve, at the mention of his mother. Ezra decided that it would be fun to taunt him about it. "What, something wrong? Doesn't the big powerful Darth Vader like the mention of his mother, are you afraid how disappointed she'd be if she found out what you did?" Ezra couldn't help but smile, although he knew he wasn't doing himself any favours. Vader felt his anger and fury surge out of control – even by his standard. "You have no idea what I'm capable of, you will pay for your insolence." Just from the way Darth Vader said it in a steely calm voice, that Ezra knew he wasn't bluffing. He silently cursed himself of saying what he had said. Ezra knew exactly what he was capable of and to be honest he was terrified. He knew that being a Jedi (or at least a Jedi in training) that he should control these emotions, but he just couldn't. Just the thought of what Vader could do to him made Ezra shiver. He had heard to many horrible stories of what Darth Vader could do. All of a sudden a painful electric shock ran through his body; he had been so caught up in his thoughts that Ezra hadn't noticed Vader say "Prepare to suffer." Or the torturing device being turned on. Ezra may not have noticed all that but he definitely noticed the pain. He tried not to scream but the pain was so great and intense it was overloading his senses. Ezra's horrific screams filled the room, Ezra wanted it to stop, he just wanted to die. Vader watched with great satisfaction as the boy screamed out in pain and struggled against the bonds that held him down. Vader watched as the electric shocks travelled into his body, causing it to twitch and spasm out of control. This went on for hours on end - it felt like an eternity to Ezra – it stopped. He slumped back in relief breathing hard, his thought raw from screaming. "That was only the begging." Vader hissed menacingly. Ezra shuddered at the thought of what could possibly be worse than the torment he had just experienced. Vader than turned on his heel and swept out of the room the cell door closing behind him. Ezra slumped back against the chair, his body throbbing with pain, his breathing short and uneven. Despite his physical pain and exhaustion, Ezra reached out to the force calling on it to give him strength. He used it to search out, to try and locate his master, to try and send him a message through the connection they shared. But something was blocking his connection. He wondered if it was the prison cell he was in or maybe it was where his master was, that was suppressing the connection that they shared. All of a sudden he felt an electric shock go through his body as if he was being tortured again. But it wasn't from him it was from his master, he was in pain. Then Ezra realised he was dying and there was nothing Ezra could do to help. He was angry, angry at himself for being so stupid and naive and now Ezra was captured, helpless as his master died. I have to escape! Ezra thought to himself. Ezra didn't have the slightest clue to how he would do that, he just knew that he had to do it. All of a sudden he felt a sudden burst of strength that came from both within around him. It was as if some last piece of strength had been building inside him joining together with the strength that the force was giving him. Around him the room began to shake the metal chair began to bend and shake alongside the room. There was a loud SNAP! Ezra's bonds broke away, he quickly leaped into the air as the metal chair snapped cleanly in half. Ezra had no idea that he could do something like that, especially after being tortured for so many hours. As awesome as it felt to have done that, something felt wrong. Even though it was quite warm in his cell he felt as if he was on Hoth. Then he realised that he had drawn power from the dark side, he had used his anger just like Darth Vader had wanted him to. Well I'm sure it'll be alright if I use it one more time. So without a second thought Ezra used his anger to open the door of his cell. He took a cautious step out into the hallway, looking up and down to see if there were many storm troopers nearby. Unfortunately, there was a whole squad of them standing at attention down the hall, "oh just wonderful." Ezra whispers to himself. He looks around him trying to find somewhere he could hide at; he was looking up at the roof when a grate leading into a ventilation shaft caught his eye. Luckily he was still small enough to crawl through them, taking a quick look to double check that the storm troopers weren't facing his way. When he was sure they were looking the other way he took a running jump pushing the grate out of the way, then jumping up into the shaft himself. Vader was walking through the hallways of the Ultimatum when he felt a disturbance in the force – the Jedi apprentice! Turning quickly, he stormed off to the detention level. When he caught the boy he was going to kill him, he could already feel him impaling his lightsaber in the boy's chest.
