Four Months Prior.

"KJ I can't even begin to tell you how sorry and ashamed I am about what happened. You didn't deserve it and I don't blame you for ending it between us. I realize that I have been..."

KJ shook her head, already tired of listening to her (now ex) boyfriend, Randy Orton. "Why are you doing this?"

"Doing what?"

"This," she said. "This whole phony show. Coming to the NXT arena, pretending to be so abject and apologetic. What do you want, Randy?"

Her question seemed to catch him off guard. "I'm just trying to say sorry—"

"For what?" she asked. "For cheating on me not once, not twice, but for the third time? Or lying to me ever since I've known you?"

He blinked. "Come on, KJ," he said. "Don't be like this. 'Cause if you move up to the main roster, I don't want you to think you have to avoid me. We've been through to much for that."

"You don't get it, do you?" She wondered if he honestly thought she'd forgive him. "When I move up to the main roster, I wouldn't have to avoid you, I would want to."

He stared at her, plainly confused. "Why are you acting like this?"

"Are you kidding?"

"After you broke up with me, I knew I'd make the biggest mistake of my life. I need you. You're good for me. Not too good for me, but good for me. You make me a better person. And even if we can't get back together, maybe we could just get together sometime and talk. Like the way, we used to before I screwed up.

KJ opened her mouth to reply, but she was left speechless. Did he really think she'd fall for this again?

"Come on," he grabbed her hand. "NXT is over. Let's go get a drink and talk. We can work through this." She nodded. "Let me change first." He smiled as she walked to her locker room, leaving him to wait by catering.

"Are you really going to do this?" I looked over and see my best friend of seven years, Dolph Ziggler, looking at me with his eyebrows furrowed. "Dolph, we have been together for three years, I am sure we can work this out. We always work it out."

"Yeah, three years of lying! I'm coming with you."

"No, Dolph, you're not. Go make plans with your girl Nicole or something," she sighed.

"Promise me you won't let him hurt you."

I giggled and kissed his cheek. "I promise, Dolph. Now go!" I smiled walking past him.

The night was not fun. Randy was drunk, and KJ tried to take him back to the hotel she was staying in. He grabbed her wrist and tried to pull her back in the bar as they were walking out, and he was gripping it hard.

"Come on," he said, slurring his words. He pinned her on the side of the building and his face was just two inches away from hers. "We're going back in that bar." She could smell the stale liquor on his breath.

"Don't touch me, Randy." Her voice rang out sharply.

"Kai..."

She slid farther down the building, away from him. "I said don't touch me."

For the first time, she glimpsed a flash of anger in his expression as he lunged for her neck. "Calm down KJ..."
