Frostbitten

Empty words empty promises,

There's no reason to lie,

But you, your words leak out,

Full of tales and deny,

Every breath you take,

Is another story written,

desert skies burn like your tongue,

but my trust is frostbitten,

Checkered shirts in fields of lavender,

thunder, lightning, ocean breeze,

The golden sun kisses my skin,

through gaps between the trees,

These memories are not of you,

I was on my own,

The thoughts I have of you,

I would prefer to disown.
