I reread that letter multiple times during the walk to Jacob's. I had no clue who this letter could be from, in all honestly the only boys I really talk to are my five best friends. The words were sweet but confusing, why would someone write this but not tell me who they are? I smiled at the letter though and even found myself to be blushing while reading it. The only thing going through my mind was who could have wrote it? I walked while trying to figure it out in my head who would be the person to write something of that nature to me but I couldn't figure it out.
I was so focused on who wrote the letter that before I knew it I was at Jacobs. I walked up to the door, knowing he would of brought my keys inside. I had no makeup on and resembled something of a complete slob but I didn't really care. I knocked on the door and it almost immediately swung open, all of my friends there. They all started to look flustered and almost nervous due to the fact that I was now in the room, I was not sure why. We had the type of friendship that nothing was awkward we could be in each other's houses and sit in a silent room all doing our own thing with out it being awkward or uncomfortable for anyone so as to why they were starting to get all fidgety and strange about my presence confused me quite some bit, but I decided that I should just ignore it considering I had to go back home and try to figure out who wrote this letter and how to get my phone back.
"Hey Ana!" Clayton said breaking the silence, all of the cars were at his house but someone moved them over to Jacobs which is just a couple houses down so that Clayton's parents wouldn't get mad because his sister was visiting.
"Hey, I need my car." I said bluntly, distracted by the note.
"uh okay? Everything alright?" Jacob questioned.
"Yeah yeah yeah, I mean my brother's took my phone because my parents are away and I came home drunk so yeah." I told them.
"Damn, that sucks. You should've crashed here." Jacob said, as if he had ever even offered it, which he didn't.
"Oh right so then my brother's can scold me about sleeping at a guys house. That will work well. Good plan Jake." I said sarcastically.
"Well jeez, forget I even offered." He teased as he went to get my keys off the table in his living room.
I am still not sure how everyone ended up at his house because he dropped them home last night but I didn't say anything. "Thanks, I'll either see you in school tomorrow or talk to you later if I get my phone back." I told him as he handed me the keys. I couldn't help but notice how when I would raise my tone just a little bit too loud everyone would flinch due to their headaches caused by their hangovers. I, on the other hand, had already taken Advil so was now feeling great. A devious smile spread across my face with the knowledge that Jacob has an abnormally loud doorbell, I let out a chuckle before pressing the button and the loud dings ran through the house. Everyone erupted into complaining and yelling at me as I ran towards the car, I heard Jacob, the sober one, laugh in the back round. I heard all the boys footsteps behind me, signalling they were chasing me. Followed with that, I heard their screams from the sunlight hitting their eyes. I laughed even harder now, and made it to the car, closing the door just before they all practically rammed into it and playfully hit the top with annoyance because they didn't catch me in time. I smirked at the fact that I actually did something to them without them getting revenge just yet. It seemed like any time I made an attempt to prank them I ended up failing or it ended up backfiring. Yes, this prank was small, but it was progress. These guys love to gang up on me, obviously as a joke but still I never get the well deserved prank on them.
I started up my car with a smile, and gave them a wave as I pulled out. They all mimicked my wave and my smile and then I honked twice causing them to cover their ears and hold their heads then I waved once again, still with a smile plastered across my whole face. I continued to drive, enjoying the breeze and the thought of the letter creeping into my head. I pulled it out of the band of my pants carefully and looked at the writing as I kept one eye on the road as well. It was writing I haven't seen before, I really had no clue at all who on this earth it could be writing this letter to me. I wasn't crept out though, it was so sweet not creepy, I just wanted to know who it was. Again, distracted by the letter I had already pulled into the house before I knew it. I parked the car and put the letter in my glove department, not wanting my brother's too see it because God only knows what protective instinct that would pull out in them.
