Duncan's POV
Gwen gripped my wrist telling me not to go and I looked at her. She had her face buried in her pillow and I sighed. I looked at her hand and noticed bandages around her wrists and sighed. I sat closer to her and put my hand on her side as she just laid there not moving, not talking, but...breathing. I looked at her other wrist, she was bleeding through the bandages and I sighed.

"Gwen..." I said and she tightened the grip on my wrist. "I thought you stopped doing that?" I asked.

She didn't respond and I moved my hand from her side to her shoulder. I wanted to help her, but she wouldn't let go of my wrist and I just sighed in here and looked around. Maybe if I try and lighten up the mood, she'll let me help her. I smiled when the story of us from eleven years ago...when were seven and our families had a lake day.

A Sunny Hot Sunday in July [Seven Years Old]
3:46 P.M. Ottawa, Canada

No One's POV
It was a hot and very sunny day out, the view of the lake from the tree was absolutely beautiful. Not one cloud in the sky, only bright light blue sky. A Canada Jay sitting on the railing of the abandoned lake lookout tower. The lookout tower that all the kids used to jump off and into the lake, the lookout tower where Gwen and Duncan ran off to get away from their families, the lookout tower...that would hold some of their best memories.

"Last one up the lookout tower, is a rotten egg...and has to be the first to jump into the lake!" Duncan yelled while running towards the lookout tower.

"Hey!" Gwen said, running after him.

Teresa Nelson and Mary Ingrid shared a glance, smiling as their kids ran up the abandoned lookout tower. Duncan climbed up the ladder as Gwen went around the side and took her secret passage way up. She always beat Duncan up to the tower, always. And just like always when Duncan climbed up the last step, Gwen was standing in the doorway with a smirk on her face and her arms crossed.

"That's not-...I let you win." Duncan said crossing his arms and looking away...refusing to accept his defeat.

"You must always let me win, because well...I always beat you." Gwen said and Duncan rolled his eyes. "Either way, you're still jumping first." She added.

Duncan groaned and walked over to the open side of the lookout tower, which faced the water. Duncan stood on the edge and then looked back at Gwen. He grabbed her arm and then pulled her down with him into the lake. They hit the water at the same time, creating a one splash. Gwen, who had slightly suspected that Duncan would pull her in, swam to the top and looked around for Duncan. When he swam up Gwen, she splashed him. He looked at her and laughed then splashed her back. She dove underneath the water and swam up behind Duncan and jumped on top of him.

"I wasn't ready, you idiot. I got water in my nose and ears." Gwen said Duncan laughed, until Gwen pushed him under.

"Gwendolyn....play nice." Gwen's mother warned her as Duncan swam underneath the water.

"He started it! He pulled me into the water." Gwen said and her mother gave her a look.
