"You have to!" my friend Anna said as I laid on my bed.
"Anna, you know I don't like repeating myself." I sighed. "I'm not going to the ball."
"But Briar!" she complained before storming out of my room.
I pulled the covers over my head as I was getting more cold.
Why would I go to a ball? All there is to it are stuck-up wannabes and desperate one-nighters.
Seconds later, Anna comes barging in into my room with a dress covered in a black cotton bag.
I sat up and looked at Anna.
She was already prepped with her hair and make-up for the ball.
"Come on, Briar!" she pleaded as she held the dress bag in the air. "Please! I don't want to be alone!" she pouted.
"Anna, for one, do you even remember the time when I wore a dress?" I asked her.
"About a year ago." she quickly interrupted causing me to roll my eyes.
"And from then, when was the last time someone had seen me? In this new town?" I asked her which caused her to look down.
"I can't recall." she said.
"Exactly, and I'd like to keep it that way." I told her as I sighed.
"But Briar, that happened a year ago, and no one even knows you here." she commented. "I'm sure your parents would want you to go through with the ball too. I mean, your mate could be one of them!" she said with sparks in her eyes.
"Anna" I sighed in frustration. She knew mentioning my parents would get my mind moving. I looked at her and she was smiling at me. "Fine, I'll go, but don't blame me if I get into a fight with a wannabe." groaned as I got out of my bed.
"OMG! YAY!" she yelled out as I groaned more. "Okay! Go take a quick shower and I'll be over in 15 to do your hair and make-up!" she squealed as she placed the dress on the bed and ran out of my room leaving me sighing.
"What have I gotten myself into." I said as I walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth.
I looked at myself in the mirror and cringed as I saw myself.
Dang, look at my mane.
I grabbed my toothbrush and paste and brushed my teeth while going through my playlist to play some music on while taking a shower.
I stripped and hopped in the shower room and danced some more as I washed my body and hair.
The song 'Better When I'm Dancing' by Megan Trainor came on and I sang along while dancing nearly dropping the bar soap out of my hands.
"Okay, I guess I should finished up then." I told myself as I carefully placed the soap on the soap container.
I rinsed myself thoroughly while still humming through the song.
I got out and dried myself. I put on my undergarments first then my armpit deo and body losh then a robe.
Just as I got out of the bathroom, Anna came in into my room without knocking with her hands full.
"You know, there's this thing called knocking." I said as I ran a towel through my hair. "And what's with all those stuff?" I asked her as I walked up to her making some droplets land on her back making her shriek and making me laugh.
"Stop it, Briar!" she complained as she shivered from the cold water. "And these stuff are the make-up and hair style necessity to prep you up." she said as I gave her a look. "It's not everyday I get to prepare you for a ball, and I'm going to make sure you are going to look the best out of everyone." she stated making me shake my head.
