*Yunsoo's POV*
The next morning, I ate my breakfast at the table in silence. My mom, who was making Youngkwan's lunch, noticed my silence and sat across from me. "You seem quiet this morning. Is something on your mind?"
I shook my head no, but really there was. *Tao offered to give me a ride to school today, but I don't think I should go with him.* My mom sighed when I didn't give her any other response and went back to making my stepdad's lunch.
*Maybe I should ditch him.* Ideas for a ditch ran through my mind, and I finally decided on the simplest. I looked up at the clock and saw that it was seven twenty-five. *Darn it! He's going to be here soon.* "Mom, I have to leave or I'm going to be late." I left my half eaten breakfast on the table and hugged Mom before she could say a word, and ran out the door after grabbing my bookbag.
The front door shut with a harsh bang as I jumped off the porch and ran down the sidewalk. "I hope he doesn't show up." I slowed my pace a little once I was a block away. "Maybe he forgot about picking me up." The honk of a car behind me told me Tao didn't as I stopped and watched his green hummer pull up beside me.
"Hey, get in." I stood still, contemplating my response, before I finally gave in and sat in the front seat beside Tao. "So," He started, interrupting the silence. "why'd you ditch me?"
"I didn't ditch!" I defended myself.
"Then what do you call walking down the road to school when you're getting picked up?" He retorted.
"I thought you weren't coming." I lied with warm cheeks.
"It wasn't even seven thirty!" Tao exclaimed, momentarily taking his hands off the steering wheel. I didn't respond, knowing I had been caught. Neither of us said a word until we pulled onto the school grounds beside a man who looked like a door greeter. "Here you are." Tao gave the man some car keys before the man bowed, climbed into the driver's seat, and drove the car away.
"Uh, where's he taking your hummer?" I asked Tao as we entered the school.
"He's taking it to the school's private parking." He informed me.
As we walked down the hallways, girls were squealing in excitement. "It's Tao oppa." One girl cooed.
"Whaa, oppa's so handsome!" Another proclaimed.
"But why's she with her?" Complained a girl.
"Yeah. I've heard she's poor and lives in the dump." Another whispered.
"Oppa shouldn't do that. He'll make Victoria upset if she comes back and sees him with her." One informed the others.
I turned my head to face the gossiping group. There were four of them, all with a ton of make-up, short skirts, high heels, perfect hair, and perfume that almost made me gag.
I'm guessing Tao was able to see my discomfort because he quickened his pace and took a left turn into and almost empty hallway. "Ah, don't pay attention to them. They're just a bunch of drama queens."
"Okay." I responded, not really knowing what else to say.
We soon reached our classroom and just like the day before, it was chaos. Luhan and Sehun were making aegyo faces at each other, Chen was riding on top of Chanyeol's back as if he were riding a horse, Beakhyun was running after Kris, demanding for his eyeliner, which was only ten inches out of his reach, Kai was throwing paper balls across the room into the trash can with Lay reading a book beside him, Xuimin was eating a bun, and D.O and Suho were playing some kind of game on their phones.
Tao and I well avoided the chaos zone and found our seats in the front. As I took out my textbook, Kris called out to me. "Yunsoo! Catch!" Without thinking I grabbed the flying eyeliner stick that was aimed for my head.
