Life Can Take You Higher Than Drugs!

Yamazaki Sagaru POV

"Commander, do you think she is connected with the Kioku drug issue that is going on lately?" I uttered.

Currently, we are investigating about a drug called Kioku. From what I've known, this drug is extremely addictive and causes massive memory loss to it's user. This drug is constantly produced by an illegal company Kaitendou, probably connected with Harusame ship producing Tensai drugs as well. If she had something to do with this, then she would be our enemy.

But why would they use it on her?

Well, it's not like we know the true purpose of this memory draining drug. There's been a lot of possibility about the usage of the drugs itself, but no one knows it's true intention.

"Why would they use it on her? She could not possibly be involved" remarked the commander as we walked. 

As trusting as ever. But it's somehow true. What kind of lady should get involved in that? What kind of memory she would like to forget?

I sighed. Tomorrow, I should submit my investigation record to the demonic vice commander. He's been taking this issue too seriously, and Okita-san isn't bothered to give us any help.

"Kondou-san, is it better if I tell the Vice Commander about this? about her?" I asked him, confused. She might be the only evidence Shinsengumi has right now. But handing her over to the Vice Commander doesn't sounds right as well.

"No, it's possibly best if you don't tell him about this. We should let him rest, he had been pushing himself with this issue. He keeps saying that it will be a huge disgrace if we did not complete...."

"What are you planning not to tell  him?"

A voice came out and interrupt the conversation. It's the Captain.

"Sogo!! HAHAHA, coming like that out of nowhere, it's not good to eavesdrop onto conversations, is it?" The Commander laughed out in panic.

"Captain! Seriously, it ain't nothing....HAHAHA.. Just don't tell that guy we used his mayo as a flytrap" I burst out laughing in confusion.

What the hell was that anyway.

"Eh...? but I'm sure you discussed something completely different... Don't worry, I've used his mayo to grow some fungi.."

As if you can grow that thing with mayonnaise!

"SOUGO! About that.. I actually used his mayo for removing my public hair and 'that' too..." The Commander blushed.

Seriously! How the hell does he remove the hairs? and what does 'that' means? Did he try to grow his 'fungi' and besides, Did he tell the truth?! Oi!

"So what's is it about? I'm pretty sure it's about Kio..."

"SSSHHHHHH...!" I covered his mouth and quickly hide by the side of the corridor as The Vice Commander walked pass by.

"He... I'm helping the case too, ya know? and I vowed to help Hijikata-san with it" he uttered with his usual blunt tone.

As if you ever give a damn about this!

"Fine then, I'll tell you! but keep it a secret from The Vice Commander, ne?" I whispered. 

"Roger that"

We peeped through the sliding door where the mysterious lady was in. She seems to be awake, lying at the futon, staring blankly at the ceiling. She is really odd... I wonder if this one of the drug's symptoms.

"So what about this person?" Okita whispered, while focusing his eye inside.

"I think she might be involved with Kioku drug incident, knowing that she didn't remember any of her memories, even her name" I replied, in the softest tone.

"You can't really say yet. There is no evidence" denied The Commander.

"But there are possibilities. Are you sure not telling this to Hijikata-san?" Okita asked, piercing his reddish brown eye to mine.

"I feel bad if I do so, besides, I'm sure he won't go soft towards anyone involved with The Jouis." I answered, unable to look at him.

"Ja, I'll be going then, I hope you can resolve it as fast as you can, Yamazaki, and don't forget to submit the investigation record tomorrow" He sighed, and walked in a steady pace.

Really? That was it? And he's just curious. He did not give a damn! Besides, you should be the one helping me with my work!

"It's a relief that he don't make a ruckus about this" sighed Kondou-san.

I nodded, while inspecting the mysterious lady in the room. She didn't move her eyes a single bit. Just there, with a vacant sight to the ceiling.

How do we manage to hide this from The Vice Commander anyway? That wouldn't be possible.
