Chapter 2

*Alex's POV*

I woke up around 9 in the morning I jumped in the shower once I got out I was bored so I went for a walk it was kinda early so I didn't expect to see anyone.

"Hey!"

I was startled I turned around and it was Matt

Hey Matt *smiling*

"Why are you up so early"

I don't know just woke up and wanted to go for a walk how about you

"Oh dad was being...just yeah"

I saw him putting his hand on his arm it wasn't cold but he was wearing a jacket

Matt are you ok?

"Yeah I'm fine I uh I got to go" he said running off

I wonder what's wrong with him? I don't know...

*Matt's POV*

I really didn't want Alex to know but she seemed understanding my dad was horrible every morning I have to wake up at 9:00 and do everything if I don't do it right I get hit just the way it goes this morning I just started doing everything he grabbed me and hit me so I got on a jacket and ran out I know it was a bad choice but I did it and now I was gonna pay...

I walked into the house out of breath from running away from Alex and the first thing I deal with is my dad in my face.

"WHY DID YOU RUN OUT!!"

CAUSE YOU FREAKING HIT ME THATS WHY!

"WELL YOUR GONNA HAVE TO GET USED TO THAT I THOUGHT YOU ALREADY WERE" he punches me in the face

I run back out and this time I wasn't afraid to show Alex I ran to her door and knocked her mom answered

"hi who are you?"

a friend of Alex's can I talk to her

"of course come on in"

I ran up the stairs and knocked on her door she answered

*Alex's POV*

I heard a knock on my door thinking it was my mom but it was Matt with à big bruise on the side of his face and his lip was bleeding

Matt are you ok!?

"Um yeah no I'm not"

I grabbed a wet paper towel and put it up to his lip and he cringed

Sorry, what happened?

"Its ok not much my dad does this every day pretty much"

He hits you!?!

"Yeah thought that was obvious on the street and right now"

Show me the other one

Matt takes off his jacket and I can see the bruise on his arm but he doesn't stop there he takes off his shirt to and his whole upper body is filled with bruises

Matt oh my god

"its not that bad" putting back on his clothes

Why didn't you tell me before?

"Cause I don't know well I got to go I'll text you"

Matt please don't go

"I have to or he will come over here to get me now I'll text you"

Ok

I felt horrible about letting Matt leave I look out my door and his dad is standing on the his front lawn yells at him then grabs him and pulls him inside I didn't want to know what was happening inside the house.

*Matt's POV*

When I walked out of Alex's house and into mine I got a few new bruises but nothing worse then a punch and a few kicks I decided to text her right now before I got in the shower

M: Hey

A: Hey what happened after you got back in the house?

M: Normal stuff few punches few kicks

A: Omg Matt this isn't right I feel horrible

M: This isn't your fault

A: But you coming over here is why you got those other ones

M: Yeah but its not your fault I gotta get in the shower

A: Well it feels like it is and ok

It was really late so I decided not to text back after I got out of the shower but I think I'm gonna hangout with her all day tomorrow and maybe ask her out all I could think about was tomorrow and I fell asleep

*Alex's POV*

I felt like this was my fault even though I know it isn't it feels like it is I'm gonna ask him if he can hangout tomorrow it was 2:00 at night so I decided to go to sleep tomorrow might be a good day.
