2. First day

Joey's pov

6 am, instead of my alarm I hear my mom coming home from another hook-up. I get out of bed and make breakfast my brother and sister. They come downstairs and once we finished our breakfast my sister brought my brother and I to school. Because my little brother is still in pre-school I got to school waaaay to early. I just grabbed my favourite book; Children of Eden and started to read. Once I finished about 3 chapters I finally heard the school bell. I quickly grabbed my phone and searched up in which classroom I needed to be.

In classroom 205;

I walk into the class and see a lot of people I've never seen before. I get nervous and find myself a place in the back of the classroom. Once the class has started for 10 minutes a long boy with dark brown hair walks in.

Daniel's pov;

I woke up this morning with light coming from my window. I was peacefully sleeping and all of that was abruptly interrupted by my mom screaming "DANIELL, YOU ARE LATE!" I jumped out of bed and tried finding an outfit that looked reasonable, some black skinny jeans and a red hoodie. I got my backpack and brushed my teeth as quick as possible!

I grabbed an apple and ran to the bus stop... but no luck, the bus had already left! I walked back home and dropped my backpack on the floor.. I started swearing "shit, fuck! How can I be late on my first day of school!?" Then something popped up in my head! I have my bike! I got it out of the garage and cycled to school. I got at school when the bell just rang. I got my timetable and walked to my class.. shit 10 minutes late!

I walked into class and the teacher said "good evening mister preda.. nice kick off for the new year.. take a seat" I quickly looked around and saw an empty spot next to this small boy... have I've ever seen him before? Oh it's the new kid! He's cute.. I'm gonna sit next to him. The lesson starts and it's really boring.. algebra is so easy for me! Is see the smaller boy struggling next to me.. I ask him if he needs any help and he agrees "oh yeah please! I'm so bad at algebra!" Oh and by the way my name is Daniel.. Daniel Preda. "Oh hello mister preda!" And then he his cheeks get red.. he's so cute omg!

Third person's point of view;

Daniel; what's your name by the way?
Joey; oh sorry my name is Joey :)
Daniel; hi Joey.
Daniel; if you need any help with algebra I'm always here to help!
Joey; oh uh yeah that would be amazing. I'm so bad at algebra..
Daniel; no problem at all! I can teach you this afternoon?
Joey; yeah that would be great thanks.
Daniel; ok cool, at your place around 4?
Joey; uhmm.. I don't think it can be at my place. I uhm.. my little brother is sick.
Daniel; oh sure I get it.
Joey; maybe at your place?
Daniel; I'm sorry my dad is working home today. Maybe we can go to the school library?
Joey; okay sure that'll work.
*Bell rings*
Daniel; well it was fun meeting you! Which class do you have left today?
Joey; I have art, math and history today.
Daniel; oh I don't but I'll see you this afternoon!
Joey; of course!
Daniel; oh shit I have football training today. Uhm, maybe you can come watch? It's at the third sports field?
Joey; Okay I'll be there!
Daniel; bye Joey
Joey; bye Daniel :)

Joey's pov;

Omg he was soo cute. I instantly fell in love with him. Why is he so handsome. And kind too..
I wouldn't mind getting tutored by him. It's just so difficult because it can't be at my house. Why does my mom need to be an alcoholic right now...
Maybe I should tell him. I could see in his eyes he didn't get it. But I also saw there's something with him he doesn't want to tell.
Whatever. I'm just happy I made a friend today.

Daniel's pov;
Fuck why does this always need to happen to me. This boy is adorable and sweet and I try to become closer but I can't. Not as long as I live with my dad. I hate him so much. Why couldn't he just be normal. I'm just so scared that if I bring anyone home he'll hit me in front of them. I can't do it.
Sigh, let's just forget about it. We can study at school it'll be ok.

Third person's point of view;

Joey walks to the sports fields and he immediately sees Daniel.
He walks towards him.
Joey; hey Daniel! Looking good.
Daniel comes running towards Joey.
Daniel out of breath; well thank you, and awesome you're here. Let's go inside.
Joey and Daniel walk off the sport field together.
Once they were in the locker rooms Daniel said he was gonna take a shower and he would meet Joey in the library.
Joey walks to the library and waits until Daniel is there too.
Daniel; so algebra huh?
Joey; yeah I just don't get it. It doesn't make any sense. I can study it for hours and not remember a single thing...
Daniel; I get. I didn't understand it at first but as soon as I got a tutor it became so much clearer for me :)
Joey; I hope you can help me with it
He starts blushing.
Daniel; of course.
*2 hours later Joey gets called*
Joey; I'm sorry Daniel I have to go. Will I see you tomorrow?
Daniel; uh of course. But why do you need to go?
Joey; oh there's nothing. See you tomorrow!

Joey's pov; I hate that I had to go but my mom was drunk and said she was gonna end her life. This has happened before. She just doesn't understand how much this hurts us. It doesn't hurt us. It breaks us. I love my mom but I just wish she was normal. And I wish I could tell Daniel. I trust him but I don't want him to go away because of my mom.
He won't get it. Nobody does.

Daniel's pov;
Too bad he had to go. I had so much fun with him. He is the sweetest boy I've ever met ♡
I wonder what's wrong.. I hope everything is ok with him.
Also; I now have to go home where my dad is probably waiting for me so I can he can hit me.
I get my backpack and bike home. Only thinking about Joey.
Tomorrow is a new day and I'll get to see him again. :)
