T A L I A
•••••••••••"Jordyn! Get back here! Were going to be late!" I yelled out for my little sister trying to get her to put her shoes on. She ran away from me and is refusing to put them on.
It's currently 7:10 and school starts at 8 for me but I have to drop off Jordyn at her school at 7:40.
"Jordyn you better listen to your sister girl!" I heard my mother yell at my sister from the kitchen. I smiled in victory when Jordyn came walking slowly from around the corner.
"Thanks momma!" I thanked my mother as I bent down to put on Jordyn's shoes.
"Don't thank me just yet because if you miss the bus I'm having your a.ss Lia!" My mom yelled at me using my nickname. My eyes slightly widened at my moms threat.
"Let's go." I whispered to Jordyn when we had all our stuff. When we were outside we started running to the bus stop making sure we didn't miss it.
Sorry where are my manners. My names is Talia Anderson. I'm 17 years old and I'm what people consider a "nerd" because I get straight 'A's'. I don't care for it anymore because while they are working at a fast food restaurant for the rest of their life's I'm going to be a lawyer.
I sighed in relief when I saw a couple people waiting at the bus stop meaning that it still hasn't came yet. I subconsciously wrapped my large grey hoodie tighter to my body trying to hide from the people that would take quick glances at me.
I always tried to put on a brave face in front of my little sister so when she grows up she won't be afraid to be herself and outgoing but sometimes I can't. I get to shy when people stare at me.
I might not be the prettiest girl or the skinniest but I want to be the smartest. And I guess some people don't know how much their words can hurt someone especially when they think I can't hear them.
"Lia it's so hot why are you wearing a hoodie?" Jordyn asked with her eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. I stared to panic. What do I tell her?!
"I had nothing to wear. Plus it's my favorite and it's the first day of school. I want to show everyone my hoodie." I told her with a smile on my face. She giggled and started talking about her favorite clothes.
I smiled as she rambled on about the differences in her seemingly identical pink sneakers. Out of nowhere there was a loud car noise that made my head snap up in fright.
It was a gorgeous black ranger rover with dark tinted windows but I could feel someone watching me through the front window. It sent chills through my body for some unknown reason.
I mentally shook my head as the bus arrived and we all hoped on. The bus was pretty packed so I had Jordyn sit on my lap. An older lady sat next to me and smiled before turning around. I of course smiled back since my momma thought me manners.
Jordyn and I continued to talk about her favorite dolls and teddy bears. I swear Jordyn has so many dolls that I wouldn't notice if she had two of the same kind.
When we finally reached her stop I dropped her off before returning to the bus and smiled at the bus driver for staying. I sat at my seat again alone since the older lady had left a while ago.
I took out my phone from my pocket. 7:43. Luckily my new school is only a couple minutes from here so I will still have time to find my classes. They sent my schedule last week to my house and I didn't really mind it. I of course got advanced classes like I have always had.
I slowly stood up when the bus stopped at my school. I gulped loudly as I saw how huge it was. I saw sick the day I was supposed to take a tour so I haven't seen the school in person till today. I felt my palms get sweaty as I stared to approach the school.
The front of the school was littered with excited high school students happy to see their friends again after the summer. As always people started and whispered as I walked by.
Great. My first day so far isn't going so well. I hate attention. But attention is what I got.
