I graduate today.

It seems very surreal to me. I never thought I would be able to say that. I remember my senior year in High School, I was freighted to go to UCSD. Not because of the money, but because I would think that I would fail.

I would think that I would have to drop out because I was struggling. I didn't go to an amazing school, where the teachers knew what they were doing. Instead I went to school where half of the teachers sat on their chairs, just gave us packets, and we had teach ourselves. Although, at my university, I actually had professors who cared about their students and tried their best to teach us the best they could.

They also had tutoring sessions just in case we needed help in certain materials. I, for one, needed help in English and Humanities. I didn't start learning English until fourth grade. That was a bilingual class actually. Half of the time it was taught in Spanish and the other half was English. It was fifth grade until it was fully taught in English. My goodness did I struggle in High School. Oh well, hardships happen and you have to fight your way through it.

That's exactly what I did.

You see, I come from a single parent home. I have a younger brother who's barely on his sophomore year in High School and I was the first to graduate from High School and now college.

That thought makes my heart jump.

Dear me, I think I should tell you about myself. Well I'm Mexican, but my father was about fully Spanish. I tend to get a lisp when I speak or read in Spanish. Weird, I know, but when I was younger I would always have a lisp. I worked on it and eventually, it rarely came out. I'm 5'6, I would say I'm pretty tan, I have black hair, my hair is pretty long, and people say (not just me) that I have an hourglass figure. My eyes are light brown, full lips (I inherited from my mother), and I am supposedly overweight by my doctor. Five pounds to be exact, which is utterly ridiculous! Now I have something to tell you that nobody really knows except for my family. I had rhinoplastic surgery the summer before my freshman year in college. It's something I've always struggled with ever since I was in middle school. I decided to do something about it. Now I love my nose and do feel better about it.

Okay, that's enough for now. Time to come to the present and get ready for graduation. Dammit. I can't believe it. I seriously can't believe it. I made it!

Slow down now. You're still have a long life ahead of you.

Shut up. Let me enjoy the moment.

Okay back to what I was saying. I MADE IT! It's barely 7 in the morning and the ceremony is at 6pm, which is pretty far away, but still so close. I haven't even decided on how to do my eye look. I know I'm going to have my hair down and curly. I'm going to wear a sparkly necklace my mom bought me. I'm forgetting something, but what. I basically have everyth-

...

DEAR MOTHER OF-

I don't have a dress! How could I not have a dress! I've been worried about everything else that I didn't realize, that I needed my outfit. I really hate myself sometimes.

*sighs*

Well now I know what I'm going to do today.
