Chapter 1:

Your head is aching as you open your eyes. Everything seems to be spinning, and your eyes wont focus. Eventually the blurry mist that fogs your vision fades away, and you look up. You rub your eyes in confusion; all you can see above you are grey skies that appear to be rocking from side to side. All this is impossible strange. You close your eyes and slowly try to sit up hoping that being upright will help clear your mind, and make all these strange illusions go away.

Once you sit up, a rush of memories come flooding back to you. You remember getting onto a small boat with your best friend, planning to soak in the shining sun. The next memory that enters your mind is the sight of the beautiful, glistening blue sea turning to grey, and the stunning cloudless sky becoming rough and terrifying.

These are the only memories you can recall, and now that you are in a sitting position you open your eyes expecting the worst to appear, and you are completely right. You are surrounded by dark, terrifying waves, that tower above you, and the sky looks like it’s about to crack open and pour down on you at any moment. Then as you really begin to process your surroundings, your eyes freeze in their wandering tracks and you gasp. You are forgetting the most important thing. Your best friend Ashleigh is nowhere to be seen!

You remember that at the time the storm hit Ash was down underneath the deck of the boat getting her sunglasses, and you hope that she is still there and not somewhere lost at sea. You shakily stand up and make your way over to the small door that leads to the stairs that will hopefully lead you to Ashleigh.

Half way down the stairs you have to stop walking because your head starts spinning again, but then you hear a strange moaning sound coming from downstairs so you quickly keep moving.

You reach the bottom of the stairs and see Ashleigh sitting up and looking around with a confused expression on her face, you continue rushing towards her, and as you are about to reach her there is a sudden jolt. You go flying, but you manage to grab onto the railing that lines the ship before you can do any serious damage to yourself, Ashleigh on the other hand flops backwards, and you hear a sickening crunch as she hits her head on the solid wooden floor and falls unconscious yet again.
