The Mortal Instruments: City of Deception (fan fiction)

"Jace!" Clary had said with pleading eyes. "Clary, I'm sorry. But I can't do this anymore. There is no more us." What was happening? Clary didn't understand why he was breaking up with her, she was devastated.

I can't believe what I have just done, Clary is just walking away and I'm not doing anything. All that is going through my mind is the replay of what just happened last night between Luke and myself, (flashback!) "WHAT?!" I was sitting at an old park with Luke, he had called for me too meet him there so he could give me some information. "Look I am just as upset as you are Jace, but you have to listen. Clary is in trouble, the clave wants her gone. They are going to come for her soon but

I don't know when, so we have to find a way to get her out of town." "But how in the world do we get her too leave?" We sit there in pure silence, and then I speak up again " I have to go with her! You don't even know for sure if the clave wants her dead!" Luke just stares at me and then speaks " I do know, I was in Idris last night when I heard them speaking about what they could do to spilt you too up and then go for her." I sit there, uncomprehending, incompetent to understand what has just happened. Then I remember Clary has been working on a rune for awhile now, a forgetting time. "What if we use her forgetting rune against her, make her forget she is a shadow hunter?" Luke said, he must have been thinking of the same exact thing As myself. "But then she wouldn't have any recollection of me or the Lightwoods" I said but then after the words had come out of my mouth I began thinking, her life would probably be so much easier with me out of the picture. Luke then proceeded, "look if you break up with her-" "EXCUSE ME?!" "I will not break up with her!" I was then full of frustration! "Fine then let her get killed or listen to my plan." I sit there as Luke begins telling me "If you break up with Clary, I can ask her if she wants a rune to help a broken heart and I will tell her I will trace it. Instead of that I will trace a sleeping rune on her forearm, when she is knocked out that is when I will give her the forgetting rune." "Jocelyn and I will move upstate to my family's farm house and since it is summer she will think of everything as the day before she found out she was a shadow hunter." I replied back with "What about the bloodsucker?" Because indeed the question was literal, if she didn't know anything and thought she was a mundane once more I don't think she would be buddy buddy with someone who thought they where a vampire. "I'll tell her Simon couldn't come, and that they can keep in touch" Luke said, "and when she awakens at the farm house and has no memory of how she got there?" I smirked at the remark because I was getting irritable. "We will tell her she had a fever and had been in and out of consciousness." "Jace I hate doing this to both of you but it is for the best okay?" "Fine." I said and left for the Institute. End of flashback

Chapter 2- Precise movement.

Clary ran to Luke's home unable to think of anything but running home to her mother.

Clarys POV

'I want to cry so much right now. But what's the point no one cares if I cry, who cares what I think I just need someone to talk too' Clary thought. "Mom!!" Clary screamed "Mom!"

3rd person

Jocelyn came running in the room to her daughters side, Clary immediately felt relief to see her mother. "What's wrong with you? You look like you've been through hell!" Jocelyn had a frantic look in her eyes, "Mom, Jace broke up with me!" Clary said trying to hold back the tears but that just was not going to happen. Jocelyn stepped out of Clarys room after Clary had asked for some water as she ran into Luke. "Oh Luke! It's horrible.. Jace broke up with Clary! She is devastated." As soon as Luke heard the words collapse from Jocelyn's mouth he walked in to take his chance for the plan he and Jace had just discussed.

Clarys POV

There was a slight knock on my door when I whispered "come in". It was Luke. "I'm so sorry Clary." I replied with nothing as Luke came closer with something in his hand, a blanket. He wrapped the blanket around my shoulders and then spoke "you should try and sleep soon" I replied with a shake of the head I can't sleep like this so I asked "can I have a sleeping rune?" "Sure.." He then went for the Steele and began tracing. I was out as soon as the rune was finished.

Luke's POV

'I have to find her sketch pad' he thought to himself as he rummaged through Clarys room. Jocelyn walked in and and spoke, "is it done, is she going to survive now?" "First we must find her sketch pad, the one with the forgetting rune." I said looking more and more. "Here" Jocelyn said, handing me the sketch pad. I opened the book to find the rune, very interesting with scroll work throughout the lines. I carefully traced the rune on to Clarys skin, each line, each detail all in a precise move.

End of chapter two- sorry that the chapters are so short but I think that the only reason is that this is the first fan fiction ever! Again I don't own the mortal instruments this is just a fan fiction! Hope you guys liked the chapter

Chapter 3- The way things once where part 1

Clary woke up to complete confusion. She wasn't in her normal room, she was in her room at Luke's farm house. 'Thats weird. I was just about to leave the apartment with Simon to go to Java Jones' Clary thought to herself. "Mom?" "Luke?" Clary slightly yelled for them to come. That's when Luke entered her room, "I'm glad to see you're finally awake!, you've been sick with the flu and the fever has been causing you to go in and out of consciousness." 'Thats probably why I don't remember a thing.' Clary thought again. "Oh, well how long have we been here?" "About 3 days." "Where's mom?" I asked because she must be somewhere near us. "Grocery store, things here weren't very appealing." "Okay, can you fix me some breakfast?" "Of course I can Clary!" "Thanks, I'll be down in a few minutes, I have to get dressed".

••• Luke POV

I go down stairs to fix Clary her breakfast, and think the entire time that the plan is actually working. After she was unconscious we had Magnus put a charm on her runes so that everything was as if it never happened. I have to admit though, I feel horrible for Jace. The only one Clary now knows from back home are friends from school and Simon. I made sure to tell Simon to be extremely careful not to let anything slip, no names or anything. I finishing making Clary her breakfast as she walks down the stair case.

••• Simon POV

Luke had asked me to be very careful and never mention any of the names from the Institute. He also asked me to tell Izzy, Alec, Robert and Maryse. I meet all of them at the park around midnight so that no one else may be there. I begin telling them the plan and everything else and Izzy just looks crushed. "What about Jace? Did he go? Not one of us has seen him!" "No it was just Clary, Luke, and Jocelyn". I say but now I wonder where Jace could be.

••• Jace POV

I feel like I am dying inside. I just basically disappeared after what I had done to Clary. Right now I am in Idris just sitting by Lake Lyn, wondering how Clary is doing. That's when I feel a sudden sting and then no longer a sting but full fledged burning in my parabati rune. "ALEC!" I scream and then I begin running.
