Little Alex sat on her bed reading a chapter book. Even though she was only five she was very smart. Her mother and father were down stairs making dinner while she was in her room. Alex wore a white dress with white socks. Her blonde hair was in a loose braid that hung by her shoulder.
"Alex," her mother called. "dinner is ready!"
"Coming mommy!" Alex replied. She put her book down and skipped down stairs to the dining room.
" Hello mommy! Hello daddy!"
"Hi sweetheart!" Her mother said in a sweet voice. Her father smiled at her and said, "Hi pumpkin!" Alex giggled at the nicknames and sat down at the table. "What are we having tonight." She asked with curiosity. "We're having pasta and tiramisu." Her mother told her. Alex grinned with excitement. She loved pasta and tiramisu, it was her favorite dinner and dessert.
After eating Alex went to her room. Thirty minutes later she finished her book and Alex felt sleepy, so she put on some pajamas and went down stairs. Her parents were in the living room sipping on coffee and talking. Alex waited until the were done talking because she didn't want to be rude. "Mommy, daddy? Can you please tuck me in bed?" "Of course sweetie." They replied.
They went to her room and tucked her in bed while her mother sang 'Come little children'. "Goodnight pumpkin." Her father told her and kissed her forehead. Her mother did the same and said "Goodnight princess." Alex said goodnight to them too before they closed the door.
Alex looked at the ceiling and then closed her eyes and drifted of to sleep.
