The Mates

~ Minutes Before

'They're here' played on repeat in most of their minds as Gildarts hands each of them a bag full of snacks.

"Now hurry they'll be here any minute now get to the escape passages and run" Gildarts says after handing out the bags. There was really no need to tell them twice, they all nodded their heads quickly and take off running towards the stairs to get to their rooms.

As they ran to the stairs they watched gildarts walk towards the front door with nothing but a clam expression on his face.

'how can he be calm in a situation like this' Eve thought as he made it to the stairs with the others, they all rush to get up them trying not to trip over each other.

They're about halfway up the stairs when they hear gildarts yell to them from the front door "And Remember to stay together and be safe"

A few seconds after hearing that they all can heard the front door being opened and not long after hearing the door open the bright light from the outside world washes over them.

Some throw up a hand to cover their eyes as they continue to jog up the stairs.

Just as the last of them reach the top of the stairs they hear gildarts again "I'll catch up with you guys later" and with that said he steps outside shutting the door behind him. Leaving the mates alone in the empty house.

They all stop for a moment at the top of the stairs, and look at the now closed door. "Good luck and be careful" Mira whispers as she stares out a window and watches as Gildarts walk to edge of the forest.

"Come on guys let's get going we don't have much time" Erza says and starts running towards the rooms. They all nod and run following behind her.

Just as they reach the hall were their rooms were Erza suddenly stops, which causes all of them to crash into each other.

They all look at her wondering what was the matter but she just ignores them and continues to stare off into thin air.

Lucy was about to ask her what's wrong when she snaps her fingers. "That's it..wait here.." is all she said before running back to one of the many closet doors on the side of the wall.

She quickly opens it and pulls out two backpacks. They all look at the them for a second before realization hits them and they all remember that those were the two backpack gramps had gave us, 'ohh...I forgot all about those' most of them thought as she pulls out the backpacks.

She shuts the closet door quickly and runs back to the group. She hands Mira a backpack "you take this one I'll take this one" Erza says as she throws the other one onto her back, Mira nods throwing the backpack over her shoulder.

"Wait but I thought there were backpacks in escape passages " Yukino says as they started running to their rooms again. Freed nods his head "yea there are but we're also going to take the two master gave us just in case" he explains to her as they all reach their own bedroom doors.

They all pause for a moment and looked at each other.

"Be careful, we'll see you guys soon" Kinana says just before opening the door to her room,she along with Juvia and Mira all run into their shared room.

Freed, Eve, and Romeo all nod their heads before they themselves run into a room.

"Well see you guys later" Kagura say before she ran into her shared room. "Stay safe" is all Minerva says as she follows Kagura and Erza into their room.

Yukino nods "you too" she says as Lucy turns and opens the door to their room,they all run in closing the door behind them.

"Come on guys we need to hurry Gildarts won't be able to hold them off for long" Lucy says running over to the desk in the room.

She looks around for a second before seeing a small grey button "Blue baby got back but back ain't got that" She says as she presses it, After about a second the floor by the beanbags opens up to reveal a hole big enough for a human to jump though.They all ran over to the hole and looked down it,but they see nothing but darkness.

Yukino gulps "ummm...do we just jump in or..." She asks looking down into the hole a bit fearful. Lucy shacks her head "Well I guess we just jump in" she says shrugging her shoulders. She takes a step forward "I'll go fir-" she starts to say but is interrupted.

"Wait my books!" Levy yells interrupting Lucy, she drops her bag and turns rushing towards one of her many stacks of books.She honesty couldn't believe she also forgot her precious babys.

Lucy just sighs before picking up levy's bag, she then turns to Yukino "hold this please" she asks and hands her levy's bag. She then pushes her own bag of snacks up higher onto her shoulder. Preparing for what was about to happen next.

She moves forward quickly and grabs ahold of levy arm tightly. "Come on Levy we don't have time for this we need to go" Lucy says pulling Levy back to the passage.

"But I can't leave my poor babys behind" Levy says struggling against Lucy hold on her. Even though Levy was a small and petite girl Lucy herself still struggled to keep a hold of her.

Lucy smirks when an idea comes to mind.

"Well OK then, have it your way but good luck with your iron bodyguard..." she pauses for a second and then continues on "..I'm pretty sure he'll be very....excited to see you, and once he gets you your books won't be the only babys you have." Lucy says letting go of Levy.

Levy stumbles forward a bit, she turns and looks at Lucy and then back at her books. Lucy just stands there and raises an eyebrow. Levy blushes before letting out a huff of air. She then turns back around and walks over to Yukino. They don't even have to exchange any words they just share a look and then Yukino smiles and hands her back her bag.

Levy let out another deep breath before smiling sweetly, she looks at Lucy "While...come on what are you waiting for you said you would go first" Lucy sighs shaking her head.

They all look down into the passage. "Well here goes nothing" Lucy says before she takes a step forward and jumps into the hole. Levy is the next one to jump in. Yukino takes a deep breath before she hops in too.

A couple of seconds later screams could be heard, as all 3 girls felt themselves free falling.

Author Note: I'm also really sorry for not updated lately, my phone was acting up, so its been hard to write on it without it logging me out of Wattpad, but its fixed now so I'll be updating and stuff.
