judged

9 2 5

here we run
quick through
the trees
running away
from words
actions
judgment

we gain distance
but we stumble
upon a lie
and
we get picked up
by the truth

we lose some distance
but we gain
some hope

just up ahead
we see the edge
of the forest
we're glad to
get out of the
darkness of
the woods
but we're afraid
to enter the light
where all
of our flaws
our imperfections
are in plain sight
we're judged
for our blemishes
laughed at
for our flaws
and no matter
how hard we try
we
can't
stop
