Calea is terrified of the ocean. She is extremely claustrophobic, and the ocean scares her because it's filled with stuff. She's shy and quirky, but mainly quiet. She's always been in the background.
After arriving back home to live with her mom and her new husband, Calea is happy to be back with her best friend Daisie.
What she doesn't account for is how much Daisie has matured. And the surfer boys who are now her best friends.
Feeling once again outcast, Calea decides she is never going to fit in.
That is until she grows impossibly closer to one of Dasie's surfer friends over the summer.
But how could a stargazer ever be more than friends with a surfer, a boy who loves everything she fears?
