His body felt broken.

Like everything in his body was damaged.

He felt trapped,

Caged.

Like a pet bird.

He hated it.

Where was he?

Why couldn't he see?

Why couldn't he hear?

Why couldn't he move?

In all of his 30 years of existence he had never felt so trapped and alone. Even in his days in New York when he was jobless and making next to nothing, he always had his trusty companion, and wife, Stephanie Patrick by his side.

Now, he was truly alone. No one by his side. No one to make silly jokes to him when he was sad or frustrated, no one to protect him from the darkness.

What happened?

The last thing Matthew remembered was sitting on the couch with his beautiful wife, completing FNAF for the millionth time on the live stream. The fans were happy, Jason was happy, Chris was happy, everyone was happy.

Nothing could go wrong.

But Then it did.

Matthew slowly began to open his eyes, his body catching up to the highway that was his mind. He was welcomed to the smell of rot and the warm and welcoming color of blood that was splattered along the room's walls. He tried to move his arms, but they were held firmly in place. He looked down and saw that his hands were bound to a wooden chair by metal bands that were littered with rust.

He soon noticed his feet were also bound by metal bands. Flashbacks from the time he did the Mangled video with Nate, haunted him. That was all for show, but this, this time it was real, and he was terrified.

His heart began to race.

His thoughts became cloudy.

He began to lose his mind.

Images of dark shadows began to surround him, chanting icy, incoherent words that froze him to the bone.

All his fears began to attack him, and his world came crashing down.

Every nightmare he ever had bounded for him.

Thoughts of losing Steph shot through him like a bullet.

He was certain this was hell.

The darkness has swallowed him. He was now its prisoner.

What had his captors given him? What drug had they given him?

Whatever it was, it terrified him.

Matthew began to panic. His breaths became more rapid and shallow. A panic attack was in full swing.

Desperation took over, and he began to sob.

He wanted Stephanie's soft hands to intertwine with his and for her gentle, melodious voice to tell him it was alright. He wanted to gaze into those beautiful brown eyes and see the stars among them.

She was the Mario to his Luigi, His yin to his yang, His sun to his moon. She was his rock, his anchor and his whole entire world. Without her support, all his greatest fears and apprehensions easily destroyed him.

After what felt like decades, Matthew heard soft footsteps cross the room.

Suddenly, a dim light turned on, illuminating the musty room.

Matthew began to notice the room's features. The walls were a disturbing off white color, that of a laboratory or a hospital. Along one of the walls was a cluster of computer monitors, much like you'd see in a villain's lair in a Marvel movie. Across from him stood a figure donning a medieval black cloak and black boots.

"Hello, Matthew. I'm glad to see you're awake." Figure's voice sounded distorted, almost as if they were trying to disguise it.

"Where am I?" Matthew asked fiercely.

"Thats not important." The cloaked figure answered slyly.

"So... You aren't going to tell me then?" Matthew asked.

"Nope. You're probably wondering why you're here."

"I am." Matthew nodded.

"You know, I've always admired your curiosity. You're here because i want to play a game with you. You like games, right?" The figure's voice was sinister, even though it sounded like a child's.

Matthew grit his teeth. He liked games, usually, although he had a feeling that this game was NOT something enjoyable.

"What kind of game?" He asked tensly.

"Now you're asking the right questions! You're going to play a game of hide and seek with me. I've kidnapped your friends and hid them in 3 different locations around this facility. It's your job to find them. You have 3 days to complete the task or it's game over!"

This really scared Matthew. The idea of only having 3 measly days to find his friends made him uneasy. Unlike in Majora's Mask, he didn't have the ability to turn back time. If he ran out of time, there was no reset button.

"What friends?" Matthew asked.

"Oh only the ones that mean the most to you. So Stephanie, Jason and Chris. The figure replied playfully

"What happens if I get a game over?" Matthew asked fearfully.

"Oh you know, just the usual "everyone dies situation", no big deal." The cloaked figure's smile sent an icy chill down his spine.

"I'll find them before the Game Over Situation, I promise." Matthew said with determination

"Good. Don't let your friends down, Matthew. They trust you."

Matthew was determined to find his friends. They meant the world to him and he would do anything for them. He wasn't gonna let them down. If he ever wanted to see his beautiful wife's face again, he had to stay determined.

"When does the game begin?" He asked.

"Right Now."
