My jaw dropped.

"You WHAT?!" I exclaimed in his face. He flinched and turned bright red.

That's when I realized everything. I realized that he was trying to tell me this all along. I realized that he was my best friend and possibly my lover. I realized how good it felt to be in his arms. How good it felt when he hugged me. How he's always been there for me. How he defends me. I remember Brielle's words from a few days ago: '"DUDE. Chris loves you."

An how stupid me said:"DUDE. I KNOW HE DOES. I LOVE HIM, AND I LOVE YOU, OKAY."

I had mistaken it for brotherly love.

And I'd mistaken my love for him the same way.

I loved Chris Collins. I loved him. Holy fucking shit.

He looked at the floor embarrassed. He had just confessed his love for me.

I lifted his chin so he looked me in the eye. He finally did and I just grinned widely at him and hugged him. Really hard. Really. K.

"Um, what are you doing?" He asked me all confused but still hugging me back.

"I love you, too," I said into his neck.

I felt him give a silent shaky breath.

"Really?" He asked.

"Really," I assured.

"Can I try something?" He asked.

I froze. Um, try something? Please explain further. I nodded anyway.

He started leaning in. I felt my cheeks slowly start to blush a little, but I didn't care. I started leaning in, too. I felt my breath catch. I felt Chris' breath on my lips.

"Am I moving too fast? Tell me if I am," he whispered, his minty breath hitting my lips. I chuckled in the inside. What a gentleman.

"N-No, your fine," I whispered back.

The moment our lips touch was indescribable. What I felt was a strong tornado of not butterflies, but doves swarming around in my stomach. It was a beautiful feeling. Our lips moved together perfectly synced. He held me tightly as if not ever wanting to let go, and I did the same. We were enjoying our first kiss together when someone burst through the door.

We jumped apart as a clearly disturbed Crawford said, "What. The. Hell." and ran off while yelling "EWWW" around the house for the whole world to hear. Chris and I smiled at each other and laughed. He stood up and helped me off of my bean bag.

"Let me take you somewhere," Chris said quietly while taking my hand in his and dragging me out the door.

Now that it had stopped raining, it was easier to walk around. Chris took me into his backyard, but kept going further and further until we couldn't see his house anymore. After a few moments of me asking if we were there yet, we arrived at an old park. It looked beaten and old from all the years children played on it.

I ran to the swirly slide and sat at the top.

"INCOMING," I yelled as I went down. No wonder kids don't play on this anymore. This shit is fucking built to kill whoever goes on it. I went down at a really fast speed, thanks to the help of the rain. When I reached the botto, Chris was there, but then I toppled off the slide and threw Chris down on the ground with me.

"Oops," I said giggling.

He laughed. I leaned in and kissed him one more time.

"I love you, Christian Collins."
