Dear brave soldiers of the Philippines,

I know that you've been suffering mentally, physically, spiritually and even emotionally because of this war, but you never chose to surrender. You risked your lives for the sake of our safety. Before, I never recognized the worth of your work but now, I can see how dangerous it is. You have been in sleepless nights, protecting us day and night while we live peacefully. I witnessed a soldier before, in Jollibee who wanted to buy a toy for his child. Unfortunately, that toy was out of stock. I was so sad at that time because I can see how much he wanted to buy that toy, those eyes that were sorrowful even though he was smiling. You sacrificed your time for your family just to defend those people who you don't even know. I know you want to come home and be with them, you miss them, but you chose this profession knowing that you will be apart from them when in times of emergency. I thought that you soldiers are scary, but you proved me wrong. Every time I go home to Cagayan de Oro, I can see you all smiling and greeting us and having the time to have fun with us. Giving donations whenever possible is the least I can do. I hope that this war will end soon. I salute you soldiers and thank you for all of the things that you've done to us.
