Breath

Chest rips open,

Knees hit the floor,

My heart screams,

“What are you waiting for!?”

Breath

I see you before my eyes,

Slowly you fade,

Blackness takes over,

My thoughts decay.

Breath

But I remember,

Those words you spoke,

Thinking it was funny.

Am I still a joke?

Breath

Pills on the floor,

They slide down my throat,

Hands around my neck,

I choke.

Breath

Your laughter,

The last sound I hear,

You’re mocking words,

Jabbing my ears.

Breath

No

My lungs are fire,

Struck from the spark,

Of your twisted desire,

To make me your mark.

Breath

Smoke fills the room,

Stillness follows,

Time moves on,

The sun rises tomorrow…

You’ll still laugh…

Unknowing I didn’t need you for that,

I mocked myself my entire life,

Now ceases to exist,

I was my own knife,

You drove it in.

My heart still screams,

“What are you waiting for!?”
