"Morgan! You need to get up or else you'll be late on your first day as a sophomore!!", my mother yelled up the steps of our house.

"Crap...", I muttered under my breath. It was the first day of school. Summer is officially over as of right now. I looked back on my memories of what I did to keep me busy. The swimming, hanging out with my friends, spending time with my family by riding horses, all of my summer memories I never wanted to forget.

I grabbed my best outfit from my closet, slapped it on, and quickly scurried down the stairs. Not without hitting my forehead at the top of my doorway first though. I'm at least 5' 11" now and continuing to grow and I wish it would stop already. I went down to the kitchen and saw my mother cooking some delicious pancakes and bacon (my favorite). Just then, my sister, Summer, and my brother, Ricky, came down the stairs, racing to see who would get to the table first. I rolled my eyes and sighed at their immaturity.

"I win!!", Ricky screamed at the top of his lungs. Ricky is the complete opposite of quiet, he's actually quite obnoxious. He's 12, is much shorter than me (obviously), has the nicest blonde hair and the sweetest blue eyes a little boy could have.

"No fair!! You totally cheated!!!", Summer screamed in reply. Summer is 9, but she is much quieter than Ricky most days. She has red hair, brown eyes, and freckles with a spunky spirit. She's like me in looks, except my eyes are blue not green.

"I didn't cheat!! I just ran faster than you!!!", Ricky exclaimed.

"You're so super annoying!!", Summer retorted back.

"Now you two come sit at the table RIGHT NOW!", my mother said in a stern voice. My mother is a kind woman, only 37, short blondish hair, nice hazel eyes, and light freckles.

The two quietly walked to the table and began eating their food. I sat in silence as well, until my mother decided to make small talk.

"So who's ready for school?", my mother asked, already knowing what responses she would get.

"Not me.", we all replied in unison.

"C'mon Megan. I thought at least you might be ready.", mom said.

"What's so great about high school?", I muttered under my breath.

"Well...how about all the fun projects and things like that?", she said, half-heartedly.

"Stop trying to be convincing, mother.", I said, more sharper than I had intended.

She was quiet after that. We all continued to eat and wait for the bus to take us to school. Then, we heard it coming up the street.

"Go grab your stuff everyone! The bus is waiting!!", our mother told us.

I brushed my teeth, grabbed my backpack, and headed out the door. I quietly walked to my seat on the bus next to my best friend, Jessica. Jessica is much shorter than me, had long blonde hair, and perfect green eyes.

"Hey Morgan!!", she said to me as we drove off.

"Hey Jess.", I said less excitedly as she had. She's the perky and upbeat type that loves to chat and stuff that involves talking.

"How was your summer?", she asked, obviously very curious.

"As normal as it always is. Swimming, horseback, hanging out, things like that.".

"I had tons of fun shopping and going to the beach!!". Jessica always had been pretty rich and could afore tons of airfare trips. Then, my other best friend, Carlie, came onto the bus.

"Hey Morgan! Hey Jess!", Carlie tried to say excitedly.

"Hey Carlie!", Jessica replied.

"Hey.", I said, not excited at all.

"Someone's not very excited today.", Carlie teased.

"Just wait until I start jumping around like a happy idiot.", I said sarcastically.

She only laughed and she and Jessica talked the rest of the way there. I had given up on trying to join in the conversation, so I decided to doodle on a page of notebook paper. I had always been good at drawing, but I had never really taken any art courses in school.

We finally pulled up to the school at about 7:50. We walked off of the bus together and walked into the school. The two were still chattering away as I floated off into a land of my own. We sat in our school's gymnasium and waited for the bell to ring, signaling the first period bell. I looked over my schedule quietly until my other friend, Isabella, came over to the three of us.

"Hey Morgan! Hey Jess! Hey Carlie!", Isabella said.

"Hey.", We all replied in unison.

"What's your first class?", she asked all of us.

"I have Algebra first.", Jessica said, no longer pleased.

"I have world history.", Carlie said.

"I have science.", I said.

"Yay!", Isabella exclaimed. "We have the same first class, Morgan!".

"At least I won't be alone.", I said, slightly more enthusiastic.

Just then, the bell rang and Isabella and I walked off to our first class.
