The Promise

Chapter one

Flashback

Lexi's pov

"Please...just do this for me, wait for me....I dont mean forever just give me a few years...please, please, please."
I stare at Blake expectantly...waiting for his answer.

"I dunno Lexi...." he starts.

"It's okay...I'm used to this from people." I had crushed on him for 10 months now. We had dated for 3 out of those 10 months. Then he dumped me. I felt so broken so awful because that was my 3rd breakup that year. I just hated boys, they always fail they're never dependable. I slowly turn to leave the sting on tears blurring my vision.

" Okay okay, Lexi....fine, dont cry." He says, getting up and walking towards me. He puts his arm over my shoulders and gives me a kiss on the cheek. " I'll try this for you."

I was just in eigth grade and he was in 11th grade. I have no idea how I fell for him. He was three years older than me. Yet I was so desperate.to be with him that I did this.

My only hope was that he keeps his promise to me.

*Flashback end*

Blake's pov

      I remember that day like it was yesterday, I promised her I wouldnt even date. I couldnt even try to meet another girl. To be honest, I cared about her, she was okay....but my relationship with her was awful. Yes! It was that bad. I hugged her and she ignored me for three days.

       She's a child...I dunno what to expect from her. She's also flat but that isnt a major problem. I'm eighteen now and I havent spoken to her for two years. I wonder how she is. I am glad and suprised that I was able to avoid dating for this long. Jules would be proud.

   Jules is my best female friend. Lexi always saw her as a threat to our relationship but she isnt really. Girls get suspicious all the time. So I'm used to it. I'm supposed to meet up with her today (Jules) then maybe I'll meet Lexi by chance. I was supposed to meet her on her 15th birthday. Not any moment sooner. Those were her exact words...she can be so direct at times.

  "Hey you." Jules says as she walks up to me.

"Hi." I reply.

"What you thinking bout?"

"Lexi." I shrug.

"Really....her again." She sneers.

"Be nice."

"Why, she told her best friend to flirt with you so she could test your loyalty, she called you a horrible friend, after 3 months of dating she still hasnt kissed you.....shall I continue?" She questions.

" She's not into that stuff she has her reasons and the test was because she wasnt sure she could trust me...it stings but its the truth..she has been used before she just doesnt want it to happen again."

" Whatever okay....it was only when you were with her that you got so angry and sad and angry again. I just dont want to see you hurt like that agian...she is the one that always causes you pain."

"She isnt...Jules stop stabbing her in the back, can we not talk about her like this."

"Fine fine, when are you meeting the chick?" she questions.

"In two weeks, for her birthday."

"Have you gotten her a present?"

"Ummm...."

"Dumb boy, come on...lets go shopping."

"Everytime I go shopping with you, my wallet.cries.." I defend.

" Do you like her or not..I am just here to make sure you get her the right thing." She smiles.

" fine, lets go."

"Okay, so what's Lexi like?"

"You would know if you hung out with us. To answer your question she reads alot, she's into astronomy...things like space , the milky way.. she loves romance and jewelry."

"Got it..." she says as she walks into a store, seconds later she comes out with a plastic bag containing an item that looks like a pen case.

"What is it?" I ask.

"A heart shaped.necklace, that has the moon carved to its front...with matching bracelets, rings and earings...she likes reading right?"

"Yup."

"To the book store!" She exclaims.

She picks a book with a purple cover...her favourite colour, pays for it.and hands it to me..I open it, to find all the pages blank.

"Its empty." 

"Duh...its work for you, get all your selfies with her printed out and stick them.in the book...with your cute memories and quotes for her to read."

"You're a genius." I say as I hug her, she hugs me back.

"I know doofus, I know."

It took me a while but I finished the album I wrapped both presents.and signed it. Then put my card to her on top of it. Lexi likes.to be spoiled so I think I have the best gift ,thanks to Jules.
