Breathless

I woke up to the smell of coffee and pancakes, I ran downstairs and grabbed the first plate i saw. I could barely sleep last night cause today was the theatre banquet and I was so excited.

I'm a theatre geek, It was the end of my freshman year and the banquet was one of the last theatre events of the year. Theatre had become such a big part of my life and it was only my freshman year. I met lots of new friends including my best friends Yvonne and Jaclyn.

I checked the time on my phone and saw it was almost 1 so I ran upstairs to take a shower. I couldnt help but feel the tingles in my stomach as I stepped out of the shower. I wrapped a towel around me and ran to my room to look for something to wear.

I grabbed my phone and opened my messages.

Yvonne- Hey kiddo do you need a ride to the banquet?

Me- Yes I do , would appreciate it

Yvonne- Alright I'll pick you up around 3-3:30, but I have to set up my stuff to DJ today hope thats fine

Me- I'm fine with that I'll help

Yvonne- Alright see you later

With that I started to scavenge my closet for something nice to wear. I had absolutely no idea what to wear. I pulled out dress after dress and skirts and shirts. I had practically gone through my whole wardrobe. The war part of wardrobe was the war between me and my clothes right now.

Finally I pulled out a black romper, It was casual but cute and fancy at the same time so I decided it would work. I quickly threw it one and walked to my bathroom.

I brushed my hair and curled it, then I applied some foundation and mascara to finish the look. My phone beeped right when I got done.

Yvonne- Here.

Just in time. I ran downstairs and grabbed my white high top converse and walked out to the car. Me and Yvonne had our usual conversations until we got to the school. We walked through the band doors and went upstairs to the student center where everyone was already starting to set up. It took some time but what we set up was so pretty.

We put curtains up to block any windows and the halls and doors, then we set up some tables and chairs with fake candles on them. We strung up lights on the curtains and wrapped them around poles. On the tiny stage we had a table set up were Yvonne put his DJ stuff , in front of the small stage there was some room for a dance floor and to the left of it there were tables set up with food on them. The banquet was fun we danced a lot and I got to see friends. Also we gave out the awards with all the jokes and then we had goodbyes because our teacher was leaving next year and the seniors too.

After the banquet some of us wanted to go to a 15 (Quinceneara) everyone was talking about, so we debated it and I realized it was my now best friend Darcy's party so me, Yvonne, and his cousin Jose decided to go after we helped clean up.

The 15 was nice, we got there and went to say hi to some friends who were standing by a wall near an exit. I stood by a boy that was my brothers friend, my brother had talked to me about him when I was in 8th grade. He used to tell me about how his friend did something funny in their theatre class and how I had to meet his friend. So finally one day after school he introduced me to him. I still remember that day.

I don't remember the exact date so I'm going to guess. I know it was in August since it was around the beginning of the year. Im going to say it was August 25th, 2016. Its was a Thursday I think and it was hot outside and of course like always me and my brother had to walk home.
