11:30 a.m.
"We can go together it doesn't really matter we can get there, we can do it if you try."
I let out a groan as I search for my phone on the table beside me to turn my alarm off. As much as I loved Childish Gambino, not even his voice could make mornings less of a hassle. Waking up during the summer is always a challenge, seeing that I've been staying awake till two or three in the A.M. This would definitely need to change before school starts in the fall.
As I lay in bed, I decided to do my morning ritual and scroll through my phone to see what happened while I slept. The first thing I notice is the new follow request on Twitter.@bastille would like to follow you!
I tap the notification and am sent directly to the Twitter app. My mind starts to wander on what this Mason boy looks lik- HOLY SMOKES! As the profile loads, I'm met with an attractive, dark haired boy. His eyes are so green they resemble the trees outside my window- or wait, did they have some hazel in them? The smile on my face spreads as I hit the follow back button and allow him to follow me as well. I didn't want to seem too eager in messaging him, so I decided to wait to see if he would make the first move. With that, I lock my phone and get out of bed.
I scan the walls of my fairly sized bedroom in satisfaction. All of the walls in my room were painted a rose pink color, except for the wall I had dedicated to my pictures. That particular wall was left gray when we painted the room and only has splatters of pink paint everywhere. When walking into my room you would instantly know that I, Sydney Wilson, was a complete photo lover and hoarder (like there's a difference). The one thing I hate the most about growing up in the generation I am a part of is the fact that pictures aren't as popular as they once were. I like to have pictures printed out and kept in photo albums, to cherish forever.
"Sydney!! Are you up?" my aunt, Allison, shouts from downstairs. Landon must have texted her to make sure I got up to get ready. We both know I almost always ignore my alarm and sleep in.
"Yes Ali, I'm awake!!" I exclaim, heading to the bathroom. Now was the time I loved the most- putting on my makeup. Although it takes me four tries to have both my wings look the same, the process always calms me. There's just something about dolling yourself up that is exciting. Every time my friends, Kelsi and Mallory, and I go to Ulta we swatch eyeshadow shades. If we're not doing that I'm usually matching makeup products to their skin tones or eyebrow colors. Something I was lucky enough to be good at.
As I finish up my makeup, I move to my long, blonde hair. I hardly ever did anything with it just because I was super lazy. On almost every occasion, I only brush it because it looks decent enough to be considered beach waves. I'll never forget the time I decided to change it up and dye it brown. When people say they have bad times, that would be considered mine. Just ask Nolan.
I glance at the clock, making sure I'm not running late. 1:00 p.m. How in the world had that much time already passed? I let out a breath of air and walk over to my closet. This is where the hard part starts. Unlike my friend, Mallory, I sucked with deciding what to wear in the mornings- she was an expert. I begin to rumble through the variations of clothes on the hangers and finally end with a semi decent outfit.(https://www.polyvore.com/m/set?.embedder=23520213&.svc=copypaste&id=224962322 )
"This will have to do," I say to myself, looking in my mirror. Landon must already be at the coffee shop because I hear my phone ding almost immediately after I put it in my pocket. I take my phone out and look at it, only to my surprise to see a DM from Mason. With a quick motion, I swipe the notification, unlocking my phone.
