i walked past the familiar streets of London; the constant sounds of cars beeping, baby's screeching and teenagers bellowing out with laughter consumed my ears and not to mention the faint smell of weed, that wagged it's way up my nose and through the polluted atmosphere.

considering the fact that it was 'home time' and happy hour, an ocean of business men and women emerged from their offices - all ready to go home or to a pub. they all decided upon going on the same railway as i. how lucky was i today. after a hard day at university i did not want to be surrounded by impertinent men.

as i walked further down the elongated street, i made my way past the dozens of frustrated adults that scurried hurriedly to catch the 007 bus. teenagers consumed the bright red bus as they made their way back home, laughing, chatting, socialising. something that i couldn't do.

as i rushed down the stairs leading to the underground, i accidentally bumped into an unhappy business man, that obviously was in no mood to stir up a friendly conversation.

"oi watch where you're going tosser!" the man exclaimed.

i wanted to apologise but my unfortunate disability stopped me from doing so. instead i gave him a sincere smile that only rewarded me with a few cuss words from his behalf and a nasty glare.

sometimes i really wished that i didn't have to be like this. i couldn't even defend myself and that made me seem vulnerable. i hated it. the man hurriedly scattered away after giving me a lovely view of his middle finger. just great.

i scurried through the busy lane, eagerly wanting to reach the underground platform so i could get away from everyone. the masses of individuals had made me become slightly claustrophobic. i hated that too.

reggae music could be heard as a jamaican man swiftly played his tunes. he looked like he was having the time of his life and so he proudly continued to play the instrument, despite getting scoffs from the people nearby. i made my way to him to give him one pound; the look on his face was heart warming.

"thank ye me boy! yer a great boy ye are!" he chirped happily. i gave him a warm smile and nodded my head as he clutched the money for dear life.

the tube had finally reached the platform and words could not describe how relieved i was. i was beyond excited to reach my apartment and to finish off my essay about bruxism and biopsy for my dental degree, and to watch the derby county verses Chelsea match. my heart raced as i thought about how wonderful my evening would be.

i rushed past the people at the platform as i dived through the tube's doors, just to find out that there weren't any seats left. just great. i grabbed one of the overhead handles quickly before anyone else could get it - last time i hadn't held on to anything i had landed into a woman's stomach as the tube started to move. let's just say that didn't end well.

the tube too was filled with impertinent men and women, screaming children and a few odd looking teenagers that could pass as being druggies. despite the crowd, the tube had still remained clean; no aroma of weed or sweat was present.

the tube quickly passed oxford circus, liverpool street and mile end. the number of people on the tube lessened as i reached my stop - stratford station. a stampede of people escaped out of the tube, all eager to return back to their homes. just like me, well, not like me. they didn't have a disability. i was lucky enough that my disability didn't effect my studies, i would have gone mad.

it was now around half five and the cold english air had started to form strong winds. despite the wind, the sun was still shining brightly due to england's long summer days. not even a small cloud could hide the sun's radiant, illuminated rays that had formed an outstanding sunset.

i hugged my coat a little bit tighter as the wind started to blow harsher causing my body to shiver repeatedly. i tapped my feet against the ground as i scurried my way to my flat building. lucky it wasn't too far aw from the station.

i tapped my feet against the ground as i hurriedly made my way past the numerous people jogging, walking their dogs and having a smoke around the area.

again, the smell of weed was evident as i passed by five chavs that were smoking a spliff whilst talking about how one of their mates is a "complete wanker" that always has a "cheeky nandos".

after a good five minute walk, i had finally reached my flat building. i was immediately engulfed by warm air that created a sense of security in me. i eagerly rushed to the lifts, not wanting to spare a single second. the lift scanner beeped as i scanned my residential badge over it so i could go up to my flat, that had instantly made the doors close.

moments later the doors had opened again only to reveal a petit girl that had medium-length brown hair and big brown eyes. her cheeks were tinted pink, probably due to the cold weather.

"oh sorry, i didn't mean to stop you." she mumbled shyly. i gave her a nod in return and she smiled at me warmly. she was the first to emerged out of the lift leaving me all alone in the metal death trap. i hated lifts, my claustrophobia made things even worse.

moment later i was outside my flat, I scrambled for my keys as i was so excited to get in the flat. after what seemed like forever, i had finally opened up my flat door and i was engulfed in warm air and the scent of freshly cut grass that reminded me of ireland. my soul was finally at ease.
