Tough Dawgs - Completed

Chapter 9

Rocky paced the small room he had been thrown in. He looked up and saw a small vent. 'Even if I could reach it I can't get through' thought Rocky "How do I manage to get myself into these messes?"

In a nearby room the group was watching the team outside gather on a surveillance camera. Sheba walked in.

"Well" she screamed "How many are there?"

"Only five so far that I've seen" said Duke turning from the screen "I'm sure more are on the way."

"What do you want us to do?" asked Duke

"I want those goons to fight" said Sheba "Did you get a helicopter?"

"Yes, it should be here soon" said Duke

"Good! Then we'll get out of here and you'll need to find new men" said Sheba

"We're going to leave them to die?" asked Duke

"Unless you want to stay with them" growled Sheba and slapped Duke across the muzzle "These thugs are like any other weapon. You use it until it's empty then if you can't refill it. You toss it and find a new one."

With that she turned and walked out.

Duke made a call.

Everyone arrived near the building where the team was watching.

"Toby" said Shasta walking up "I need a status report."

"Ma'am no movement since the gunshots" said Agent Toby

"Do we have the building surrounded yet?" asked Shasta

"We have a weak perimeter" advised Toby "Now that Rory arrived with her personnel, we're strong to the front and rear."

"I have twenty agents available" said Thomas "Tell me where you want us."

Toby stepped over to Thomas's men and told them where to go. The pups started coming to Ryder.

"All set Ryder" set Marshall and Zuma, Chase had moved over with Thomas's men.

"Ryder" Skye called "There's another helicopter coming in fast. There's also a black car heading your way."

"Shasta incoming helo and a car heading this way" yelled Ryder "Your's?"

"Not mine. Thomas?" asked Shasta

"Not Mine either?" answered Thomas

"Toby, incoming!" yelled Shasta

Toby ran over to her side accompanied by a group of heavily armed men.

"Set up and be ready" Toby ordered "Get that rocket launcher ready we will not let her leave by air."

"Yes Ma'am!" the men yelled as they drug over one of the barricades Rubble and Zuma built.

The black car turned into the drive and headed toward them.

"Stand Ready!" yelled Toby

The car pulled to a halt and a familiar man stepped out waving a hand.

"Stand Down Toby" yelled Shasta "I know him"

The man approached,

"Shasta so good of you not to shoot me" smiled the gentleman.

"Smith are you crazy?" asked Shasta "We're about the raid this place!"

"I know but I have some information that you'll be pleased to hear." said Smith

They moved off to the side and then Smith turned and got back in the car. It backed up then left.

"And what was that about?" asked Daniel

"Well, change of plans guys" said Shasta

"What do you mean?" yelled Ryder "My pup is still in there, we still don't know if he's hurt."

"He's fine" said Shasta "A little shook up, but fine. Seems tides may have turned for my sister."

"How's that?" asked Zuma

Shasta explained her new plan and what Mr. Smith had passed on.

Group surrounding the building as the teams moved toward the building and began shooting out the windows. A helicopter swooped in and landed on the roof. Two dogs a Husky and German Shepherd ran and jumped in. The chopper flew away and the the men moved toward the building. As they did the doors slip open and the men inside all held their hands up. Weapons were laying on the floor around them. The agents moved in and arrested everyone. They began searching the building and found a locked door. Everyone stepped back.

They opened the door to reveal a cowering pup huddled in the corner.

"Rocky" Zuma yelled as he ran into the room.

Rocky looked up whimpering "Z-zuma? How'd you find me? You got to get out of here, she's crazy she'll kill you."

The other pups and Ryder stepped into the room.

"It's ok Rocky" said Ryder "you're safe. She's gone."

"Gone, She was working with Humdinger" said Rocky "We'll never be safe"

"She is going to have a real bad day" said a beautiful husky as she walked into the room.

"Shasta?" Rocky asked

"Yes, And I'm really sorry you got drug into this Rocky" Shasta said.

"Don't say Drug!" whimpered Rocky

"They Drugged you?" asked Daniel from the hallway

"Marshall!" Ryder yelled "Check him."

Marshall approached Rocky and began checking him.

"He seems fine" Marshall said "bruised ribs but his vitals are ok"

"What happened?" asked Daniel

"They gave me something" Rocky whimpered "I couldn't stop talking, I told them everything! I'm sorry Daniel, I've exposed you guys."

"I think your guys will be fine" said Shasta "She won't be telling anyone anything."

"But she's gone" said Rocky

Shasta just smiled.

The helo swooped in as the gunshots began, Sheba turned to Duke "You coming?"

Duke looked back as the teams swarmed toward the building "Yes, let go!"

They ran and jumped into the awaiting helicopter. If flew away toward the bay, the scene behind them growing smaller.

"Dam we lost a lot of good equipment" said Sheba

"That's all you care about?" asked Duke

Sheba slapped Duke "Shut up, you know that's all I care about. I have to make a call, we got to get back into business soon."

The helicopter banked and flew toward Adventure Bay. They landed at the airport where a leer jet was waiting to taxi away.

Sheba looked around "This place did not but cost me. I'll kill her the next time I see her."

She boarded the jet and took a seat. Duke walked in and sat a few seats away.

"What? now you're mad at me?" said Sheba "I can replace you too if needed."

"I'm not mad" said Duke "Just disappointed" Duke held his paws up and someone stepped from behind to Sheba's Side.

"I need a drink" Sheba said to who she assumed was a flight attendant.

"Bread and Water" said a voice "If you're lucky"

Agent Smith locked the handcuff to her paw then grabbed the other locking it as well.

"What is this?" Sheba screamed and then turned in horror toward Duke.

"Sorry, but I can't stand what you've become." said Duke. He stood and was led from the jet by agents.

"Duke!" screamed Sheba "You trader!"
