Now to make the long story short, the humans weren't winning at all. Soon the demons would conquer some regions of the world to make it their territory, and the remaining regions were ours. After a couple of years passed, people start to realize that if they want to win this war, everyone is gonna have to pitch in. So then the hunters were born, the best of the best, these guys were trained to kill demons around the age of thirteen and up. Anyway that pretty much wraps up the history lesson, now it's time to talk about my history. My life of ups and downs and it all started when I was sent on that infiltration mission. Before I continue any further yes, I'm a hunter, am I the best ? Psst I wish. My Mother and My Aunt on the other hand now they, are the best, especially my Aunt and yea she's in her forties, but she's done a lot to make a name for herself. To be honest my mother could be better if she wasn't so lazy and by lazy I mean she doesn't want that type of status/attention to herself. She feels that she would crumple under all that pressure, but I heavily doubt that, but hey it's her life, she can still make those choices and soon I'm gonna envy having choices as well, but anyway I'm getting off track. All you need to know is we work well together, but this time...this time was different, we were sent to die. I mean it wasn't on purpose, our superiors was sending us on a simple infiltration mission well suppose to be simple. There were only a couple of rumors going around saying a very powerful demon was at the base, but the info was complicated and unreliable. So no one knew for sure and because of that they sent us anyway because we have a O-K team and I say O-K because I'm apart of it, and let me stop you right there. I know I sound a bit broody and depressing, but I'm not. I'm just a realistic person ya know ? Two veterans of hunting demons is enough, they can handle a A ranked demon if one was to pop up. But me ? I'm just a 16 year old rookie who may be way outta there own league. Like I'm not weak or anything, but my appearance says otherwise since I'm a pretty lanky Hunter. we finally arrive at the base so now it was time for our orders.
Nikki- Jazeer. Rhee. this is a stealth mission, but if we get caught, make sure nothing gets out, we go in, get the data, and walk out, understood ?
Rhee-yes Nicki.
Myself-yes ma'am.
As you can tell already my aunt was the leader of this mission, but it's just funny sometimes because my Aunt is 5'4. Which is Shorter than My mom(5'7) and myself (5'11). And to top it all off she has short hair and always carried her signature pocket pistol-Alexa. The enhancements on Alexa were mythical grade, when she kills demons, it absorbs their soul and purifies it then when she or her allies are cornered or hurt she shoots them with the purified soul which grants a healing factor and a power boost to the spirit, now your probably wondering how that works and I'll explain that later. Now if you looked at my Mom, you would think she's the oldest because of her height and long hair, but you can tell she's the youngest because of her carefree spirit, she can be serious like my aunt, but that's not her style. We walk towards the base and realize it's not really a base. It has one door and the building itself is like a square. As we got closer we saw a control panel on the side of the door. That's when it clicked in my head that it's an elevator. Obviously my Aunt picked it up faster than I did and already had charges in her hand.
Nikki-Jazeer repeat the plan to me.
She was kneeling down setting up the C4 when she asked me that and I was kinda daydreaming at that moment so when she called me, I just said
Myself-huh
My Aunt sigh then looked towards my mother.
Nikki-Rhee tell me the plan
My Mom took a deep breath then proceeded to say.
Rhee-wegoinwegetthedatawegetoutkillanyonethatgetsinourway.
She said all of that in one go just to be dramatic, which led to me chuckling which also led to me getting glared at. My mother on the other hand just gave me a bright smile. Nikki was done setting the charges up and got up.
Nikki-That is correct Rhee, but now at the end of the plan, I'm going to blow up the elevator manually with this.
She holds out the remote detonator for us to see. She puts it back in her pocket and starts pressing buttons on the control panel . The door automatically opened up ready for us to enter. She looked at us and gestured to pull out our weapons as well by waving her Alexa in front of us. I scratched my head out of embarrassment and took REV out, apparently it was designed to look like an old nerf gun thing that shares the same name... well that's how old man Marcus explained it. Mom would of pulled Primi Agminis out, but since we're going in a enclosed space she took out her standard pistol. We all entered the elevator and saw another control panel inside it, Nikki again went to the panel, touched buttons, then finally the doors closed and we started descending to the underground. The doors opened and presented a wide area, but had a set of windows on the left side like an exhibit would. My Mom walked towards the glass and froze, My aunt rose her eyebrow's out of curiosity and went to her, she froze as well.
Myself-what is it ?
I pass by them and looked through the window and saw People...people who were inside of tubes. They looked experimented on, matter a fact they looked twisted and contorted into creatures.
Rhee-We're going down there.
My Mother was still looking at the creatures when my aunt snapped out of her own trance and put her poker face on that showed no emotion.
Nikki-Rhee I'm sorry, but there's no way of getting down there and even if we did they are way to gone, the only thing we can do is blow this place up and make sure nothing survives. My mother turned around with anger in her eyes.
Rhee- What did you say ?
As they argued, I snapped out of it myself and noticed a computer console in the room of tubes, I figured that must be where the data is. I decided to walk around the open area more when I noticed a touchpad attached to the wall. Of course I immediately start pressing buttons until the wall next to the pad cracked open a bit. I pushed the wall further back and a staircase appeared and was leading downwards with torches on either side. The door may have been a regular sized one but the corridor that the staircase was in was a lot wider. Now originally, I was going to go back and tell the others what I discovered, but something caught my eye. At the bottom of the staircase, a woman with long brown hair and white skin was staring at me then walked away.
Myself-Hold on,wait!!!
I ran down the stairs and looked around. I saw her down the passageway so I took REV out, then continued down slowly just to be safe. Once the path ended, I entered a room full of the experiments that we saw earlier and just putting it out there it's a whole new experience seeing them up close. One person had his left side completely normal, but the other half was green and bulky, but his hand was a blade. All the people looked unconscious in the tubes, as I walk around them I came across the console that I saw earlier. I take out the USB and plug it in waiting for it to download the files. I let out a heavy sigh and walked towards the tubes again.
???-Fascinating isn't it
I turned around with REV drawn, aiming at the woman who was now looking at one of the experiments.
???- with technology you can do amazing things like mixing the DNA of humans and demons. Honestly it disappoints me that your species couldn't see that we.
She turned around to face me, grinning.
???- could've achieve greatness together, but my my my, what's a young man like you doing in a place like this ?
She was smirking at me while I was still frozen in place. I just kept staring at her eyes, it was almost enchanting with it's light brown iris, but what held my attention was her red pupils. Her whole outfit seemed Erie, she was white and wearing a fashionable long red dress. I would be a fool to underestimate her even if she's wearing such a thing.
???-what's wrong ?
She vanished and appeared before me.
???-cat got your tongue ?
I gasped and backed up to the tube behind me. I was about to fire REV, but she smacked it out of my hand and lifted me by the throat. She clicked her tongue while shaking her head like a disapproving parent.
???-Now that's not how you treat a lady.
I was struggling in her grip when she lifted her hand slowly to my face.
???- I wonder what would happen if I-
Before she could say another word, a shot was fired and it hit her side.
I looked over to see my mom using Primi Agminis

Rhee-I'm trying not to0
The woman in red looked over at my mom and aunt with hatred in her eyes. I took this chance to side-kick her bullet wound which sent her flying one way while my leg and myself were sent flying the other way. The reason why that happened is because when mom shoots the Primi agminis it leaves an explosive orb, if it's fired at again or hit hard enough it explodes. Since I was the one who damaged it afterwards, I didn't get the full affect of it so I'm semi fine. After getting up I ran over to the console to grab the USB.
Rhee-Behind you!!!
I turned around to see the woman in my face. I tried to do a quick jab, but she caught it and threw me over her shoulder all the way to my mother. That's when the laughter started.
The woman in red- haha...This is great, Absolutely great, see we can work together!!! Me the maker of news things and you the test dummies.
My mother managed to get me up in time to see the woman's hair turn into a fiery red. She closed her eyes and raised her right arm. She opened her eyes revealing it to be a red hue and while this happened the tubes in the room shattered. The hybrids fell out and remained still as a corpse would, but slowly they rise. The woman was smiling when the hybrids turned to her.
The woman in red- go.
The hybrids screamed and looked at us, but we were already running when we heard her say go.We made it to the stairs when one of them caught up and grabbed my mother's foot, but in a quick motion she twirled and kicked it off. Once mom got cleared I started touching the touchpad again until the wall closed shut. I fell to the floor breathing heavy while mom and Niki were still standing, but they were heavy breathing .
Nikki-Get up, we need to leave immediately before they get through.
I waved my hand in the air as a sign of "give me a moment" until we heard a rumbling coming behind us. We all turned to see the wall shaking, but I got up when the wall started cracking and through the cracks we saw the hybrids on the other side. I squinted my eyes to see the woman floating above them with a red aura surrounding her. Before I could say anything the wall just crumbled in front of us revealing the creatures waiting for us. Nikki pulled Alexa out and started shooting at the creatures to slow them down.
Nikki- head to the elevator, I'll be right behind.
I reached for REV when I realized I don't have it anymore. I heard a whistle coming from the front and saw the woman holding it in her hand with a smirk. My mother realized I don't have a weapon anymore so she passed me her pistol to shoot with. One of the hybrids got to closed and pounced on Nikki, so I shot it. I helped Nicki to her feet when I noticed her foot looked pretty bad after the encounter. She definitely won't be walking for awhile, but as I was helping her up I looked forward and see the woman walking toward us.
Rhee- Jazeer get her over here, quickly!!!
I started moving faster when I noticed that every shot that was fired at the woman, would just dissolve in mid-air, not even reaching her. Nikki and I got close to the elevator when she suddenly pushed me into mom. I turned around to see that she was nowhere near me anymore, in fact she was floating backwards towards the woman. I look over to the woman to see that she had her hand out to Nikki pulling her towards her.
Rhee- NO! NOT MY SISTER!!!
She tried shooting the woman, but even Primi' s slugs couldn't reach her. The hybrids however were getting dangerously close to the elevator and I was running low on ammo. Nikki stopped struggling and looked at us.
Nikki- Jazeer don't let her out of that elevator...get out of here.
She said it with such a mix of sadness and calmness that it broke me, but not entirely. I nodded, but when I looked over at my mother she was already running out of the elevator. I managed to catch her by the arm and pulled her back in.
Rhee- LET ME GO PLEASE I HAVE TO SAVE HER LET ME GO
I ignored her and punched in the same code as nikki did to get the elevator moving. One of the hybrids came in, so I let go of mom to pull my knife out and stabbed it's eye. It backed up out of pain, but was suddenly shot once then twice making it propel to the others. I see mom aiming Primi, but after firing she tried to leave again so I grabbed her. But this time she was overpowering me until I felt a wave of strength come over me. I looked up to see Nikki aiming at me with Alexa. With the added boost from Alexa I managed to hold mom back and input the codes to make the door close.
Nikki-I love yo-
The door closed. I finally let go of my mom and in return she ran to the door, banging at it, crying hysterically. The door behind us opened revealing the sun with it's morning sky, I turned to see my mom slumped down onto her knees. I felt the tears coming, but I held it back and grabbed my mother's shoulder.
Myself-We have to go, it's not safe here.
She wouldn't budge.
Myself-please mom we have to go.
She continued crying, but got up, we were walking to the cycles when she turned around. She looked through the scope of Primi and fired at the charges that Nikki left behind. It exploded, collapsing the elevator completely no longer it being operational. Mom wiped her tears away and put her helmet on. I was gonna ride with her like usual, but she stopped me.
Rhee- No, your not riding with me.
I felt my heart drop, did she blame me for Nikki's death ? She left me with my own thoughts until she said.
Rhee- take Nikki's cycle...don't leave it here please.
After that she drove off, probably wanting to be alone, I looked over at Nicki's cycle and sigh.
Director-I'm sorry for your loss Jazeer if you or your mom need anything just ask, but good job on getting that data in one peace.
Myself-your welcome sir may I go home.
Director-yes, yes you may.
I saluted to him and went home. When I got home I went to check on my mother. She was sitting on her bed and was looking at a picture of Nicki.
Myself- Mom...what happened out there...I-I take full responsibility, I'm sorry for getting her kille-
Before I could finish she grabbed me and pulled me to her for a hug.
Rhee- I don't blame you so don't even think of finishing that sentence ya hear !?! You didn't get your aunt killed, not you, okay ?
She was looking me in the eyes now while holding my face.
Myself-okay.
After that I left her room to go to my own. Our walls are kinda thin so I heard her crying again. I walked into my room and saw a picture of us together smiling. I picked it up and sat down on my bed, to be honest I don't know how long I was looking at it for, but in the end I couldn't hold it anymore.
